01/24/11 - Florida cornerback Janoris Jenkins has been arrested on a marijuana possession charge, his second arrest in the past 20 months. Jenkins was arrested early Saturday in a Gainesville nightclub. Corporal Tscharna Senn, public information officer for the Gainesville Police Department, says an officer found Jenkins in the club’s bathroom with a “small, clear bag of cannabis.” Jenkins was charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, a misdemeanor. He was not taken to jail. Instead, he was released after signing a notice to appear in court Feb. 17. It is Jenkins’ second arrest at Florida. He was arrested in May 2009 during a downtown fight. He signed a deferred prosecution agreement, agreeing to probation and community service. - AP Sports

I know there are some tards on here who don't think it's a big deal so have at it.

Could be a blessing for the Cowboys - can grab him later in the draft.

The smoking of weed isn't a big deal. It's everything else he did that screams "poor decision maker."

i think its too late for him to enter the draft

What a great collection of young men Urban Meyer gathered in Gainesville. See what happens when you remove Tim Tebow's magical Ghandi Luther King powers?

Dude, it's Florida! Florida is what you get when you give Statehood to a trailer park!

I disagree, it is a big deal. Personally I could care less if someone smokes weed even if I don't touch the stuff. You still have to be smart about it. The fact he was dumb enough to get busted is the real problem. It is not that difficult to hide your use.

Ladies, he didn't apply for the draft.

He's a 2012 Cincinnatti Bengal.

Procuring, possessing, and subsequently using an illegal substance is always a big deal.

In a club bathroom, nice. I'm all for weed being legal but come on man.

Not when the majority of people try and it another large percentage use it regularly and are completely unharmed by the affects

Kyle Turley, a former All-Pro lineman who retired in 2008, says he smoked marijuana at times throughout his 10-year NFL career. NFL players are only tested once for marijuana, between April and August, he says, so he stayed clean before the test and then felt free to smoke afterwards. He says he did so to relax and to help keep up his appetite to maintain his playing weight. "I know half the building of every NFL team smokes pot, or has, but it's so taboo nobody will say it," he says.

Noteworthy right now is that with no CBA there would be no league wide drug policies. No drug testing, no suspensions, etc. If the union decertifies, this will be the case until a new CBA is agreed upon, which could take a long time.

Part of the CBA negotiations are to tighten up drug testing as the owners feel the current agreement is not strong enough. Players are even told of an upcoming drug test which gives them time to get the drug out of their system before the test.

#1 - Weed should be legalized. Go to California and get a doctor who can prescribe it for whatever and you're suddenly legal. Go figure.

#2 - Jenkins has to be smarter. He should be glad he didn't declare as he would have fallen on draft boards.

#3 - I'm more concerned with someone who beats their girlfriend and robs dorms than an offense like this.
