I know the guy has had repeated issues with everything that resembles responsibility, but you cant deny his incredible talent. If he slips to our pick in the second round do we take him?

He's off of my draft board completely. In fact, I'm not sure I could be convinced to bring him in as an undrafted rookie IF he came at minimum price and carrying a signed affidavit that he would forfeit everything if he EVER made another wrong move. He's Pacman 2.0.

That's just dumb to say. If he slips to the 3rd, you jump all over him.
Completely agree. If you can get top-15 talent in the third round, its well worth the risk.

No, it's not. There are some guys every year that get taken off of the draft boards because of various issues, and most of them are for off-the-field things. Jenkins is the latest poster child for such behavior, and I'd be surprised if there aren't a number of teams who wouldn't take him in the 7th round.

Talent in body combined with idiocy in mind and immature behavior is like having a loaded gun with no safety and a hair trigger. Sooner or later, someone's going to be bleeding, and I'd just as soon it not be the Cowboys.

No way. He's not Deion, so the off the field stuff matters. He is a knucklehead and we don't need that.

Would rather sign Jenkins to a long term contract than draft this guy.

He won't be there by the time the Cowboys pick in the second round.

There is no way he gets past the Panthers. So you trade up or just forget about it.

I don't think I would take him in the second. BUT if we trade down in the first and pick up an extra 3rd then I might be inclined to give it a go.

He is the best pure cover guy in the draft.

If he is there at 45 I take him.

Yes, he is a knucklehead but he is a top 10 talent.
You treat him like Dez and hope you get 3 or 4 high caliber seasons out of him for cheap.

Making lots of babies and smoking weed are issues other great players have worked through for a while: See Cromartie. I wouldn't bet a long term big-time signing bonus on him but at round 2 money? Yes.

I think I would pull the trigger on him too at #45. Best cover guy in the draft and would give you some leverage next year too with Mike Jenkins.

Hmmm, didn't know this is how we were treating Dez.

So in a ZERO RISK situation, you say no. And of course he is Pacman 2.0, he has off the field issues. They are of course getting in multiple fights in bars, right? Why does everyone who has had off the field incidents automatically like Pacman?

Jeff George had incredible talent. Lawrence Phillips had incredible talent. Charles Rogers had incredible talent.

I have probably been his biggest supporter, and I was still behind him even when the reports came out about all the kids he has made. However, I do have a problem with his recent reports of continued marijuana use throughout his stay at North Alabama. He already got kicked off of one squad for his usage, and had his professional career and the potential millions of dollars that comes with that put into jeopardy, yet he still couldn't find a good enough reason to stop smoking. That tells me his isn't very smart and also tells me that any hopes of him not smoking pot in the NFL is all but gone.

There is no denying his ability, but I really don't see him lasting long in the NFL if he doesn't have the dedication and drive to do the things necessary to abide by the rules, better himself physically, and help the team. I wouldn't even consider it before the 4th round to be honest..too many flags here. But we won't run into that problem because he will be gone by the 3rd round.

that talent... id take him in the 2nd round.. cant have enough corners in the nfl these days

I agree with you, but we also wouldn't be spending a top 5 pick on him and giving him top 5 money. At #45 or #81, it's not a terrible risk to take.

A loser is a loser..Jenkins is a loser..there's a reason multiple teams have him off their board entirely..learn the value of character..it'll do you some good
