I was browsering through some draft sites and noticed on some of them that they have this guy as one of the first guy off the board as an OT. I was wondering if any one knows about him. Thanks.

Jared Gather you meen lol HES HUGE lol i played agianst him 1 game, the dude is big, ive watched him before at MD games and he can move preety good to, he needs to work on taking a player out of the play more, he likes to block for a few seconds then slow up on the guy for some reason.

The guy is like 6'9" 350lbs, heck of a athlete as he is also a very good round ball player, but is still young and raw. Did not even start the season as a starter.

But he is a guy to watch, has the size and is a great athlete.

I am pleasantly surprised at how well our OL is playing.....we may not need the guy--fingers crossed

This kid is one of our only bright spots! Him and our punter. I definately wouldn't be complaining if we picked him up, ability to be a franchise tackle.

You played in college or still play in college currently? If so which one if I may ask or I guess which one you played for?

jared gaither has alot of work to do,but has great potential..he started out playing basketball,my son played against him in aau ball..my son knocked down a few jumpers in his face,my son was 6ft and jared was about 6.6 in the 9th grade..jared gaither went to eleanor roseavelt high school in maryland, and his team won the state championship when he was in just the 10th grade...just alittle info on him...

That was probably an older article. Prior to this season, he was as good as gone to the NFL after this season. When the starting LT, Stephon Heyer, went down last year (and the TE that attempted to replace him couldn't quite get the job done), Gaither got the nod at LT, and pretty much dominated the top pass rushers in the ACC. This included Kiwanuka from BC, and the number 1 pick in this years draft, Mario Williams.

Coming into this season, the Heyer was almost completely healthy, so Gaither was moved to RT, where he has done a less than stellar job against outmanned opponents (with the exception of playing against WVU, and that wasn't as dominating as he should be). As Maryland fans, we're not sure what the deal is. He was suspended for 2 weeks of camp this year for some violation of rules, but that is still no excuse for not playing hard when you come back.

Alot of us are wondering if he has been listening to too many of his "posse" saying that he is going to be a first round pick this season, regardless of how he plays. If he doesn't get his head straight, he won't even be a first DAY pick. Hopefully he picks it up now that Maryland is getting into the ACC schedule (starting with a very good Georgia Tech team on Saturday).

Got some guys getting old though. Who knows how much longer Rivera or Adams will last.

Ooozing with potential but he has a lot of work to do to be a great college player. I think he's a good one with the talent to be the best OT in college football, but he's underachieved thus far IMO.

I love when 6-9/350 true freshmen OT's don't give up a sack at LT in 8 starts.

Something to build from.
