so we traded out the first boooooo. I hope not.

I am thinking late first and early second are pretty much the same in this deep draft and i think we could come away with an extra 2nd and a 3rd rd pick with those trades.

Wouldn't be opposed to that scenario we'd probably have 6 or 7 picks on Day 2.

Isn't there something about picking up the fourth or fifth year option of first round draft picks?

he does this to win the contest and doesn't know which way the boys will go, so he predicts a trade where the 9ers move up to take beckham(likely even if it's not with us) then predicts the raiders coming up to get carr which is also smart. Basically he takes the hit for the boys pick if we pick in the first but if he calls both trade ups and the players taken by those teams he is going to have a good shot at winning. Kinda sucks for us cause we wanted to know what he thought we would do but it's a good mock.

he thinks we will pick Ealy if we dont trade with the Raiders.

I can see it too based on the players we are showing interest in -- Crichton, Easley, Lawrence, Latimer, Ward. If we did something like this, our picks in the top 160 would be something like…

2 (36) from Oakland
2 (47)
2 (59) from San Fran
3 (78)
4 (107) from Oakland
4 (119)
4 (129) from San Fran
5 (158)

The SF deal could be structured any number of ways but the Oakland deal works out in chart value exactly. At least, the one I have does.

2a DE-Jeremiah Attaochu
2b DT-Dom Easley
2c OL-Billy Turner
3 WR-Martavius Bryant
4a DT-Justin Ellis
4b RB-Charles Sims
4c LB-Christian Kirksey
5 OL-Brandon Thomas

We need quality , not quantity. Even if it means less picks.

I could be wrong, but it seems from after the top 10 players we see a drop off, and from about pick 11-40 we have a pretty similar level of talent. Personally I think unless a top guy drops trading back is the right move. The problem is it sounds like most teams are thinking that way as well.

You know, I'm not opposed to the first trade down, but the second might be cutting it. All depends on what you're getting in return.

Round two has sensational depth this year so having 3-4 picks in it isn't a bad thing.

I'm more convinced by the hour that our nightmare scenario of Barr/Donald being long gone is going to come to fruition.

This is not a face I trust.

The pseudo Frankenstein look is bad enough without the creepy brass birds hovering around him.

So, with that in mind... I think Dallas probably doesn't trade all the way out of the first.

Just a hunch. Not like Igor type hunch either.

I think that having 7 of the top 129 players in this draft would drastically improve a defense and offensive line that needs drastic improvement. Also, it would eliminate the cost of a first round draft pick, and help with the cap.

Unless Aaron Donald is there, trade down. Aaron Donald's motor is nonstop. I think he's like Kevin Williams of the Vikings.

This. That might not be such a bad thing if we've aquired 4 additional picks between rounds 2 and 4. There are a tone of really good football players there for us to still improve our team with.

Would anybody really mind if we managed to take Easly, Attoachu and Deone Bucannon in the 2nd round, Billy Turner, Martavis Bryant and Shane Skov in round 3 and perhaps Brandon Thomas and Aaron Murray in the 4th?

I mean, if a trade like that happened, we could get a lot of really good football players to fill some big needs on our team.

Basically he has no clue what we are doing tonight. All that trading down better net us 6 picks in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds.
