Cushing was a famous disciple of Joe DeFranco. I expect that's where he was introduced to roids.

I won't argue that others aren't cheating. He likely evolved to the more advanced designer drugs once he got to USC.

It was pretty common knowledge that Cushing was juicing in high school. He suffered from Gynecomastia once he got to USC. I believe he took some time off early in his career to try and get things under control. My guess is that he switched up the chemicals to something more exotic. He's a wonderful poster child for the benefits of cheating at the moment. I'm sure he'll pay the price down the line, but right now he's enjoying the first round draft pick money and rookie success.
I heard that Taylor Mays was his workout buddy also.

Cushing was a big time steroid user his senior year of high school. He played for one of my HS's rivals. Let's put it this way ... His junior year he didn't even make our scouting report. His senior year he was state player of the year. No one gets that good in one season. All of a sudden he was a million times bigger, stronger, and faster.

Also, I have a fraternity brother who grew up with him and told me the word around their town was that during his "injury" at USC he was really suspended by the team for juicing because they caught him and had him cycle off because they didn't want him to get caught by the NCAA.

Ehhh...

People underestimate how easy it can be to gain muscle when you've got your diet right and you're in the gym 5-7 days a week with a good routine. I know of a few guys who have put on 70-80 lbs of lean muscle in a year and a half without using. Hell, I went from 150 lbs to 190 lbs in 6 months, while keeping my bodyfat % in the single digits without using.

Many people wrongly assume that massive increases in lean muscle mass can only be acheived with "help" and they are 100% wrong.

That said, this dude Cushing is on something and had absolutely no idea how to use whatever it was at first, and obviously used no PCT which resuled in gyno.
