Anyone think this could be a successfull combo? Norv will likely get canned in San Diego and while I'd rather have Bill Cowher as the coach, or even Jon Gruden (not a big Gruden fan), I'm starting to think Garrett will be the coach.

I'd be interested to see an offensive staff consisting of

HC- Jason Garrett

OC/QB coach- Norv Turner
RB coach- ???
WR coach- Sherman Lewis
TE coach- John Garrett
OL coach- ???

Hudson Houck definately needs to go. As pointed out Pat McQuistan and Joe Berger seem to be doing okay in Miami as starters, so ***, we can't develop anyone. Got nothing against Skip Peete, wouldn't be upset if he was fired, but I don't think he's done anything that requires us to keep him.

On the defensive side, I'm okay with Paul Pasqualoni (D-line) staying. I'm also okay with Reggie Herring staying (LBers) because it's not his fault J-Will should've been a 6th round pick and we have old LBers, but Dave Campo and Brett Maxie have to go.

Hopefully we can land a top D-Coordinator, just a couple of names to consider in no order

Keith Butler (Steelers LB coach)
Kacy Rogers (Dolphins d-line coach, was here as a d-line coach)

The only way I'll be satisfied with Jason Garrett as HC is if Norv comes to be the OC. But realistically, Jason Garrett will probably just promote his brother John to be OC :(

If we're gonna go the Jason Garrett route, i'd personally rather hire Kenny Powers as our next head coach. They'd have about the same effectiveness, but at least we'd play with some fire and an edge with Kenny at the helm.

Keith Butler as our D-Coordinator would be a dream come true. You don't play with fire, you don't play for Butler.

Deciding between Garrett and Norv Turner is like trying to decide between hanging and the electric chair.

Not sure if this site is just dominated by 1-2 people who are Garrett lovers and all others just conforming and following suit to fit in and be popular...or if people just have lost their minds overall.

I think most popular media outlets have started to agree with the notion that it's time for Dallas to bring in another figurehead along the lines of Parcells and Jimmy Johnson. Seems like the direction this team is taking. Anything less would be a failure in my opinion.

Again, to anyone here who owns a company or has ever worked in one:

You do not promote employees who have utterly failed at fulfilling the responsibilities and duties of their lesser demanding jobs. You don't just magically hope that they'll get better and turn it around. Garrett is the equivalent of Jim Zorn at this point. He's a clown that has not shown he can handle the offense whatsoever. He needs to be sent on his way and this chapter in Dallas football needs to come to a close in general.

No one can stand up to the scrutiny our OC gets--no one. Every OC in the league would be considered a failure by a good portion of the couch-sitting fans who think they know more than NFL coaches.

It's the only way im willing to give Garrett a shot.

Norv is the best playcaller of all time IMO and it would allow JG to just worry about keeping his team focused.

He would be a good choice too.

Jason Garrett would be a great coach if he picks his own staff.

Jason Garrett would be a great coach if he could chose his player personel

Jason Garrett is a good OC, but our line blows and he can't run the ball.

Everyone here thinks they have the answer because they watch the cowboys on Sunday. These coaches watch game film all day everyday and for anyone here to think they have the way to fix anything they need to get off their arm chair

Fixed.

I agree JG is a good coach id think he needs to b our nxt head coach the oline is terrible and if hes good enuff to call plays that put up alot of yrds u kno hes goin to figure out how to get tds cause its just bren the last to yrs we've had problems scoring but thats personnel imo... But we might regret letting him go if we do n the future and he's got superbowl wins juzt like sean payton... Im pretty sufe he dont agree with the way wade handle things but he got to play his position and the Defense got to step up sometimes help the offense out....

He does not have control over his coaches. Jason Garrett is not the head coach which means he inherited the staff that was in place.

He does not have complete control over personel. that would be Jerry and Co.

He does not control the o-lines production. There is an O-line coach for that and none of his O lineman perform at a high enough level to run the ball.

you couldn't be more wrong if your tried.
