Now if I remember correctly, Spencer had a career year last year. Then we didnt have the money to pay him so we franchised him and he got hurt. So is he a free agent this offseason?

Question...does something similar happen with us and Hatcher, with him having a pretty good season this year. Or does he just simply walk to the highest bidder in the offseason?

Jerruh wants to overpay him but will probably be cash strapped this off-season.

I'd bring him back for cheap. I honestly don't see how he gets big money at his age and how he coasted off with injuries.

We'll try to keep him at market price but he'll be looking for a deal. He's a good player at the 3. But they shouldn't break the bank on an aging guy who has been injury prone his entire career. And I agree you look for guys in the draft and everywhere else to get what we want. Remember Bass and Crawford are back and like those two players.

I like Hatch a lot...but you keep the money you would have spent on him and bring in a younger hungry kid or a younger guy coming off injury (Melton) looking for something to prove.

You let Hatcher test the market.

The problem with Hatcher is that he just had his breakout year this year. He got hurt and faded for a stretch of games and then was inconsistent from then on. In a world were every penny counts you let a player of that age walk and develop a younger guy.
