Video: Jason "The Goat" Witten

If he could get YAC he could really be great one day..... lol
The man is a true throwback football player and it has been a privilege watching him throughout his career.

It's pretty mind boggling when you think about how many benefits we've gotten from one draft pick and for so long a period of time. I can't imagine how a tight end can manage to have such a knack for getting open on such a constant basis as Witten does and yet be relatively slow. It's magical. He's definitely a QB's best friend.

true but what amazes me is in 14 years he has missed 1 game. He has had his share of injuries yet he is out there day in day out. According to teammates he brings it every day at practice and again on game day. He has never been a glory hound looking for praise he goes out and just does the job and lets things take care of themselves.

He's truly like one of the amazing wonders of pro football. I don't know of anyone who can outdo his dedication to the game and his team in general. He'll play with broken and beaten up body parts without asking any quarter, nor showing any signs of being hampered. He's truly an amazingly rare and special player. I hate to even think of the day when the Cowboys will have to bid him adieu. Best to enjoy him while we can.

He represents everything that was once great about the Cowboys and the NFL. A truly throwback player.

Ever since some piece-of-excrement mediot said all Witten could do was catch the ball and fall down I've paid attention to Witten's YAC,,, there's nothing wrong with his YAC.

I agree. He has never been overly fast but he makes the catch, he moves the chains and runs tough to pick up extra yards. Comparing him to TE who are only receiving TE yet are not effective in all aspect of the position is not a true comparison

But I was assured by numerous know alls on this board he was done and needed to be cut....

That's how you're gonna beat em butch. They keep under estimating you .

What tight end has a second round grade next year in the draft and what team will he flourish with after witten keeps him benched for his entire rookie contract

Looking back, it's hard to believe they passed on him in the 2nd round to draft Al Johnson and gambled he would last until the 3rd. The fact is he shouldn't have still been there when we were on the clock in the 3rd.

BTW our 1st round pick that year was TNew who is still in the league as well.

All the wisecracks about being Romo's BFF. As Dak will tell you, any QB with a lick of sense will go to Witten a LOT.

Stop qualifying Wittens" greatness. It's immeasurable. Point blank period.
