Jason Witten '100 percent confident' in Dak Prescott

Playing quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys is a unique profession. Dak Prescott is learning that firsthand.
A college student a year ago, Prescott today has helped the 'Boys carve out an 11-2 record -- putting them in position for the No. 1 seed -- but two straight sluggish performances have people asking the obvious question:
Will Tony Romo return to lineup if Prescott doesn't shine?
One of Romo's best friends, tight end Jason Witten, went out of his way this week to throw support behind the rookie.

"Dak's answered the bell every step of the way, and I'm 100 percent confident he'll do that on Sunday night," Witten said of the team's prime-time tilt with the surging Buccaneers, per The Dallas Morning News. "We all go through adversity and any time you lose, it's easy for people on the outside to point blame at that position, but we all have to do better. You look at that offensive performance, we all understand that."
Said Witten: "He's not a rookie anymore. A lot of that is for people at the barber shop to talk about. For him, he comes back to work, continues to try to get better, works hard, good communicating. He's had really two good days (of practice)."
Witten also dismissed the idea that media speculation about who should start at quarterback would have any effect on Prescott.

Everybody supports him - as everybody should - until it's impossible to in order to salvage the season.

I think he'll be fine and will bounce back and we won't have to worry about it. But if he doesn't, then everyone will absolutely support the change.

At the end of the day - it's about winning this year.

Dak's future is bright, but Jerry, Jason and the fan base are not worried about week 12 in 2019.

What is he suppose to say, "ahh, I've lost confidence in him, he better play well or we are back to tony".
He obviously supports him in some way but I am sure he'd rather have Tony back there, same with Dez.

For him to bounce back we have to avoid these 3rd and long situations. It's being behind the chains due mainly to penalties that are hurting him and our passing game. We have to leave ourselves with some manageable downs and distances. These 3rd and 8's, 11's and 14's are killing our offense, causing Dak to struggle. It's resulting in him holding onto the ball too long. The penalties have negated some nice plays and have put us in a lot long down situations which is why we're struggling converting 3rd downs.

What do you expect them to say:

1. We know Dak cant make certain throws.
2. Dak sucks under pressure
3. We want Romo in please...

What exactly do you expect these players to say?

It really says something when Romo's best friend is inclined to support Dak while many of us here refuse to. Personally, all of this Prescott vs. Romo BS that pervades our thinking around here bothers me.

That so many of us are unwilling to support an 11-2 rookie QB around here is senseless. You might think we had a losing record instead of a lopsided 11-2. Let's simply be fair.

We're extremely fortunate to be in a position like this that we haven seen in two decades. If Witten sees fit to be supportive of a rookie who has performed better than anyone should rightfully expect, there's no reason the rest of us should refuse to do the same.

Yeah. It's ridiculous. The obsession with Geritol is astounding.

Witt, Dez, & the others are fully behind Dak because he gives them the better chance to win today, tomorrow, and for the next several years.

I can't wait to see what sort of hand wringing will happen when our two prized rookies get us into the super bowl this year.

I'll have my popcorn ready.

like ive said before...

"With all due respect to our fanbase and erod... I have never seen a fan base so fickle and weak after an 11-2 run and 1 loss.

What the heck is going on? These folks act like we are still 4-12 with Brandon Weeden. Is this real life? Good Lawd!!"
