Jason Witten: Saints game big only if team continues to win

Jason Witten puts the team's win over New Orleans into perspective.

"As big of a win as that was against New Orleans, it will mean nothing if we let this slip,'' Witten said of the upcoming game against Washington. "I think all of us know offensively when you look back we scored seven points against them earlier and 14 points last year. We haven't put up a lot of points against them.''

Witten said beating the Saints wasn't about building confidence. He said the team had that even though it had lost two straight. It was about building momentum.

"I'm proud of us,'' Witten said. "I've been on other end of that where we've gone into a big game and mailed it in.

"I'm proud of our team to be able to go through that and focus and come away with a big win, and really be in control of the game the entire way.''

I wish we had a team completely made up of the mentallity of Romo, Witten, Ware, and Brooking.

Dont forget Ratliff and Bradie , if all of the cowboys players played with that menatlity, we would be unbeatable!

I'll give you Ratliff, but not Bradie James. I think I prefer Tashard Choice's attitude and leadership over James. Columbo's as well.

Witten knows how to use the playoff generator just like us fans do. He knows that if we lose to the Skins, we probably dont make the playoffs.

Gotta love Witten and he is 100% spot on. We CANNOT lose this week and I don't think we will.

Bradie James can play on my team any day. He might not be great in coverage but he's good against the run and plays with fire.

Shut up and enjoy the win, Witten!

You're not a true fan, Witten!

Just shut up and quit being so negative and enjoy the damn win! A win is a win is a win is a win!

You're not a true fan, Witten!

just echoing the thoughts of posters on here after some people said the exact same thing following the game.

Players are rightfully held to different standards than fans.

I can go to Vegas the Saturday before a big game. Jason Witten can't. I can still sit back and bask in the glory of the win last Saturday. Jason Witten can't.

Who in the world was told that they weren't a true fan after saying they were proud of the team for the win in New Orleans??

Dramatic much?

:laugh2:

with regards to the "win not meaning a thing if we don't keep winning" bit

There's a difference between pointing out the obvious and expecting impending doom like most of you "realists" do around here.

Pardon me for being annoyed that after seeing my team beat an undefeated team, all I have to look at is "and here's everything they did wrong........"

So somehow in this process, we are the bad guys?

Throw in some Miles Austin, and don't forget Mike Jenkins and his 0630 meetings with Romo to study opposing quarterbacks.

The minute I read that about Jenkins I could tell he was taking his talent seriously.

We've got an all pro, shut down, playmaking corner for years to come, and I think his success is pushing Newman to play better as well.

Miles Austin is one guy who gets overlooked about having a great attitude. Most receivers of his caliber ***** about not getting the ball, but not Miles. He's the ultimate team player, and that's one reason I like him so much.

When I heard he was the one receiver who wasn't close to TO that told me a lot about his character. Not to say the other receivers have poor character (especially Hurd), but Miles is very unique from a talent/attitude perspective.

He has all the physical ability in the world, and I caught glimpses of his potential last year. But this year he's putting in the necessary work as well, and it is showing. In a couple years I think he'll be considered one of the top corners in the league. I already think he's top 10, but others might not think so.
