At least he intended to pay back his bonus...

I really thought he was going to be a Cowboy this year.

Al should accept the gift.

I agree. If a players heart isn't in it, what do you think you'll get from him on the field?

This won't end well. I bet he retires in the next year or so.

This is becoming a sad case. Reminds me of Eddie Griffin in the NBA. Hope the results aren't the same.

Keep your head up Javon jeeze.

If we would have signed Walker, I wonder how the whole Terry Glenn situation would have played out.

Good thing Javon Walker passed on the Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys were one of several teams trying to sign Javon Walker in the off-season because he had been a quality recevier and he was available on the free agent market.
The Cowboys had as good a chance as anyone else to sign him until Al Davis offered him a deal that was much, much too good to pass: a 6-year, $55 million deal that included an $11 milion signing bonus.
Well, the Raiders had to talk him out of retiring yesterday. That's a bad sign. This game is too hard and too physical to play if your heart isn't in it.
The last couple of years have been difficult on Walker with the death of his good friend and being beaten and robbed in Las Vegas. He might need a mental health break.
Football aside, I hope he finds some peace.

Al, two wrongs don't make a right. Someone gave you a chance at a do over and you botched it again.

Definitely. Hope he seeks some mental therapy. Dealing with a close friends death is tough enough but having him or her in your arms when they take their last breath is something I can't even fathom dealing with. Add to that his ordeal in Vegas, Walker needs to seek some therapy. There is nothing wrong with it at all. Everyone needs someone they can confide in and if he/she has a degree in psychology, so be it.

It's being more of a man to admit you have a problem and seek help than to let everyone, and yourself, assume that you have no problems and you do.

How does a walking corpse convince someone not to retire? That was mean, wasn't it? Oh well.
