if he comes out in 2008, would anyone want him?

honestly, I would love to have that tank in our backfield.

He won't be drafted will he?

I'd imagine he's undrafted-free agent material, so I guess it wouldn't hurt to give him a try under that scenario and see if he can show something in training camp.

But I wouldn't spend a pick on him.

I absolutely hate the Aggies, but this guy brings it when he runs. I can't believe you wouldn't spend a draft pick on him, not even a 7th.

I wouldn't spend a first day pick on him, but if he was there in the 4th or 5th, I would take a stab at him.

Didn't A&M have another slow fat running back back in they day that everyone was all excited about?

Toombs or something like that?

I think he ended up in the Arena League.

I just don't see Lane having enough speed to stick in the NFL. You can find quality players with those 7th round picks and I wouldn't want to waste one on a novelty act like Lane.

But I could be wrong. Lord knows I'm not a scout. :)

Yes, Jamar Toombs.

Lane probably is faster than Toombs. I thought Toombs was a better runner than Lane is right now. Who knows what teams will do? Lane is essentially Brandon Jacobs without the top end speed. I think some one will draft him.

As for Dallas, I don't think Lane would have a role on the team. With his size he will be a short yardage and goal line back. Dallas already has that in Barber.

Watching him run, I think he's best at breaking a lot of poor tackles, and I just don't see him doing that against NFL-level quality.

He also has very short/stubby legs. But he is a load to bring down... gotta give him credit for that!

Being from the same town, I have watched him for years. He definately brings a load, he can do a lot of things as well heck we had him as a kicker as well as RB. Really about the only down side to the guy at least when he was in High School was he just wasn't very motivated, he kind of gave up on games when we were behind. I do agree though he will probably not be drafted. Maybe he will go be with his best bud in Cinci?

Javorskie Lane played at my high school (Lufkin) and I've seen him play plenty. He is not that fat, he is very solid and was a heck of a basketball player as well.

He has put on a little weight, but still has good speed (4.5 range if I remember correctly ). He is naturally a big guy. The difference between Lane and FB's is that Lane has tailback feet and quickness.

No way he doesn't get drafted. He has too much potential and natural talent.

If he runs a 4.5 at the combine, then he'll definitely be drafted. I had him pegged as a 4.7+ kind of guy.

He may be that now, but he wasn't in high school... He used to bust people up at the LOS then outrun them to the endzone...

Agree. I'm not an Aggie fan, but the wife is so I watch them play alot. No way in hell that kid doesn't get drafted. Reminds me of a thicker Jerome Bettis.

He absolutely punishes people
