Jaws BEST pick - Fasano!

He better be better than Witten considering Witten was a 3rd rounder and we spent a much higher 2nd round pick on this guy....just looking at the value.

Yes, because Witten was valued appropriately where we got him in the third round.

Why do you guys keep harping on Fasano because "we took him in the second and Witten was a 3rd rounder". Witten was supposed to be a late first round pick at best, a late second round pick at worst, but by freak luck he slid to the third and he snatched him up.

But by this logic we reached big time on Aikman because we took Roger Staubach in the 10th round, Roy Williams was a reach because Darren Woodson was a second round pick, and on and on . . .

i guess it's not as bad a pick as i thought, since we're going to a 2 TE set.....but i still have concerns over some defensive depth.

That's like saying a quarterback drafted in the fifth round had better be better than Tom Brady because Brady was drafted in the sixth.

Ego....

There's a potential problem here. I think Witten is a great guy, and I don't think he'd let this be a problem....

but here it is....

If I remember correctly, Witten is still on his rookie contract. Fasano was drafted a full round ahead of Witten. Fasano's contract more than likely will be bigger than Witten's is now.

Will this cause strife for Witten? We already have a "divider" in TO.

Again, I don't have a problem with Fasano. I just worry some about egos stepping in. I also think this might make it tougher to resign Witten.

Maybe I'm wrong....wouldn't be the first time.
