Folks, this may be my favorite pure NT. He put on a CLINIC last night vs. a pretty good Iowa OL (I think we all know by now Iowa is an OL factory) and almost single-handedly kept Kaleb Johnson in check (worst game of the season with 49 yards on 18 carries). He’s Dane Brugler’s #4 SENIOR DT - if they actually use early draft capital on a legit game wrecker-type DT (like Deone Walker or Derrick Harmon), Toia would be a good complement to both and probably push Mazi to either get better OR off the roster. Brugler has is supposedly verified measurables as 6’2 1/8”, 338. LEGIT NT numbers.

I love what I see with him, and I think he's someone we can get round 3, which would be amazing value.

Rusty, I’d be SHOCKED if he goes in 3 - I’m thinking more like Rounds 5-7 because he’s a true NT that happens to have really good quickness off the ball, but I don’t think he’s much of a pass rusher.
explain this one more time for Mazi please???

insane obsession with pass rush will certainly push him down; if we miss out on the top guys he would very much be a good grab because I agree about what he can do against the run. Iowa O line is not quite as good this year as has been the case but they are indeed a O line factory and Toia ATE THEM UP.

Not purposely trying to find the middle ground lol, but I think he could be a 4th. He is a guy you draft and you at least know you are getting a good run down defender. However where I think he could 4th is because while his pass rush package and production aren't there, there are tools to be a viable pass rusher at some point. I think teams in the 4th could see a solid player with some upside to be a very good one.

One thing that hurts him is its an abnormally deep big DT. Are you taking Toia over a Corleone(who may be a late 3rd). I dont think most teams would

Im definitely with you on him being a guy to watch Jeff. Especially if we are picking high in the 5th

Well, and that's what we need. I'd love for us to double up at NT.

I’d double on DT, not specifically NT. A combo of Toia with any of the Mason Graham/Deone Walker/Walter Nolen/Derrick Harmon COMPLETE DT crew would be an outstanding haul. Add a really good RB prospect and a replacement for Martin and/or Steele, and the ‘Boys may be onto something good.

That works too, and I would love for us to have Jeanty.
