nice try at the grandstanding but....werent you the one who brought up how much Jay z was worth not once but twice...?

Peeped this from Wiki...(excuse me for not speaking The King's English - it;ll get your arse whooped where i come from)...

"Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska... the only son of Leila (née Stahl) and businessman/politician Howard Buffett, and second of three children.[14] He worked at his grandfather's grocery store."

So seems he came from a pretty privaleged background as compared to JayZ.
Access to better schools, resources, etc. Plus he had people to teach him about business, handling money, and such.

While I'm guesing Jay was probably self taught... or either picked up pointers from project pimps and hustlas on the block.

Long story short, in comparing Jay to Mr. Buffett... my man was relatively speaking.

Warren turned a 100 dollar bill into a mill...
while Jay turned lint into a G.

In a lotta folks eyes... comparing Jay to Warren is really a complimet to Warren.

They should both be well respected... by everyone.

Yeah... i know that.

But my level of respect has much less to do with HOW MUCH money a person has than what the person has accomplished.

To come from the element that Jay Z came from... to accomplish what he has is absolutely astonishing.

He has more influence of this young generation than Warren Buffet will ever have. I don't care how many 0's are involved.

But you obviously are one of those who equates success to a bank account...

I see some of the richest people on earth are the most miserable folks that i wouldn't trade my life with for a bit.
good grief, dude

Jermaine Dupri's been around alot longer than all of them. Even tho, he's mostly known for being with Janet Jackson. They broke up early in 2009.

Jay-Z's just bigger than all of them. Crossover appeal and whatnot.

I like Fabolous, tho. His last CD didn't get alot of play, but I like it.

Call me old or out of touch, but the only one Ive ever heard of is Jay Z.

You're old and out of touch. ;)

I forget that a lot of posters on this board are 30+, so I can't really blame people for not knowing who they are.

they all have good music, but i just dont see the same lyrics and flow that pac has in his songs. i aint gonna deny biggie had some very good songs. but i still think no one even comes close to Pacs' talent.

Pac had a great presence, but lyrically, he was very limited and repetitive.

I guess... Maybe that's where your memory began.

Actually, the first I remember him from is when the group Kris, Kross came out in the early 90s.

Total bull! Buffet has done more than JZ will ever do. You are clueless to what Buffet has done throughout his career and what he means to all ages. I am not saying JZ has not done some good, he has, but he flaunts it with houses, cars, jewerly, etc. Buffet still lives in his modest home of 40 years in Omaha, NE. He has donated billions to worthy organizations and his involvement with the Gates. He is giving away more than 85% of his wealth, mostly to the Bill and Linda Gates Foundation.

You my friend do not know what you are talking about!

He has accomplished more, and you have Jay z confused with some of these other guys. You never see Jay z with a bunch of gaudy jewelry on. Yeah he has nice cars but they are not all rimmed out (not that there is anything in particular wrong with a rimmed up car) but that is not his thing. Jay z is headed toward Madonna, Elvis, Beatles, Michael Jackson Status. You evidently dont know much about him, because is mind is ridiculous. Plus he gives back. Heck on 9/11 he did the charity concert (packed out madison square) and didnt take a dime for it. He gave millions of his own money for Katrina, 911 and other causes.
