Jaycee Horn at pick 10?

Yeah he wouldn't be a bad pick especially with farely having back surgery.
I think Pitts is the better player by a long shot though. Yeah we are already set on offense but he would immediately be TE#1.
Schultz played steady last year and Jarwin really hasn't shown much. Jarwin is another guy we overpaid for the lil production he had.
If we paid jarwin 4 years for 22 million then imagine what Schultz is gonna ask for for doubling blake jarwin's best year numbers (except touchdowns).
I think both guys are replaceable.

Draft Pitts this year then we can try to trade Gallup or save money on resigning Gallup next year. You know he is gonna want some big bucks. He had over 1k yards last year and would of hit that mark this year if Dak would of stayed healthy. Still he had almost 850 yards.

I know we need better CB's. But I also think we need better DT's and atleast 1 passrushing DE.
The best pass defense is a dominate defensive line. Look at the bucs in the superbowl. We could have Jalen Ramsey and Patrick Peterson as the starting QB's.
If the dline let the QB sit back comfortable in the pocket then they would still get picked apart.

I already dreamed of a scenario in which we draft pitts at 10, then use our 3rd round comp pick to trade back up in the first for Stokes, Newsome, or even Farley
 
I’d take Pitts, Surtain, Parsons, Staley all over Horn. He’s not a top 10 pick just because he ran fast

It will be interesting. Whoever the Cowboys pass on probably will end up with the Giants and Philly. I wouldn't like it if our rivals got Kyle Pitts. I kind of hope that Pitts goes before the Cowboys pick and the Cowboys get Surtain and Richie Grant with their 2nd pick. There isn't a right or wrong answer. I'll be happy with whoever they pick throughout the draft. They just need to get lucky and hit a homerun. There are a bunch of different routes for them to navigate the draft. They need luck on their side.

I'll be happy if they get Surtain, Horn, Slater, Sewell, Pitts or Parsons at 10. I'm also ok with a trade back that nets Newsome and Grant and a top 1 technigue. I don't think it is a good idea to pass on Pitts and let him go to the Giants or Philly. Hopefully, if they passed on Pitts, he would fall to the Chargers at 13. I don't think he would.
 
If Pitts is there, you have to take him. You don't want another Randy Moss situation repeating itself as he would become either a Giant/Eagle and would let the Cowboys know every time they played.
 
Heard his athletic testing was the best for a corner since they started keeping track like 40 years ago.

He is a dawg. He certainly will be good. He does have penalty issues, doesn't have many interceptions, and misses some tackles. I like Surtain a little better. That being said, if Surtain goes before Horn, Horn will play with a chip on his shoulder. That is why Horn did 19 reps on the bench after he saw Surtain do 18 and Horn beat him in the vertical and the 40.

Not true the guy's arguably the best CB in the draft and the type of player this pathetic defense (worst in 60 years) sorely needs. You want Byron Jones? Go get Surtain..heck of a player, very talented & clean. Jaycee Horn has a different ceiling with a nasty attitude that will probably wind up being an all-pro for the Eagles @12
 
I will say the more I look into this draft the less I like the CBs at the top. Surtain won't trust his speed until he is on the field against very fast WRs. Farley athletic and big but won't trust he can develop but he might.

Horn seems to be the better "safe" pick but again don't think he is a true elite guy seems to be a Stephon Gilmore-lite. Some guys will probably be taken at the very top of the 2nd that will be developmental projects with speed, I would chance it on one of those.
 
Trade down is best scenario, but I'm okay with Surtain or Horn. Surtain has the relationship with Diggs and is a good scheme fit. While Horn is a dawg and has the type of attitude this defense needs, also he can cover all over the field, so WR1 can't hide from him.

Exactly how I feel.
 
Not gonna lie. Even Surtain. Not sure how I feel about him in our defense. I just don't think either CB will excel in our defense unless we actually focus on getting to the QB either blitzing or getting some DT's/DE's that can get to the QB. Both of these guys will struggle if the QB has 5 seconds to fine a target every time.

Who you taking at 10 that’s going to solve the problems you mentioned.
