He also wants to win the Rookie of the Year award...if he can play RB and receiver, he just might.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Jaydon Blue in Round 5 of the 2025 NFL Draft, hoping he could eventually develop into a major weapon in the offense, and potentially lead the room into the future.

Blue, of course, is not your traditional in between the tackles bell cow running back on paper. In fact, during his time with the Texas Longhorns, he was used much more in an outside running or receiving role than anything else.

And according to Blue during an interview with Kay Adams at the NFLPA Rookie Premier, it are his skills in the passing game that could help him become one of the greats in franchise history.

Hopefully he can take his fumbling nack to a new game, not put the ball on the ground. Maybe work with Tiki Barber or something
I hear you. I think that's the first thing the staff focuses on. Maybe have him carry the ball around in practice for days like Emmitt. If he drops it, he has to do 10 laps or something.

On another note, I think Blue will be a big part of the passing game. 9ers have receivers who can play some RB. Blue is a RB who could also be a really good receiver, especially in a WCO style system.

I seen some of his fumbles and they looked like just not keeping the ball tucked in the open field. That should be fixable

Was his fumbling as big of an issue as fans make it out to be?
Or is it one of those things, that can and will be corrected. But fans pick a weakness then exploit it as is happens all the time.
Kind of like some saying Pickens explodes and blows up about every play.

I loved watching him run routes. Rarely do you see a RB who looks like a WR running routes. You get him on a safety or LB and eats gonna eat them up
I know. What I really love is how Pickens and Lamb help keep the safeties honest, which opens things up for JB.

He's gonna play some receiver, though, and I think that's where he surprises a lot of people. Way better at that than Pollard. Blue actually could just play receiver.
