ARLINGTON, Texas – It's been two years since Jaydon Blue has made a tackle. It didn't take long for the rookie fifth-round pick to get his first NFL tackle on special teams, as he brought down Jashaun Corbin on the opening kickoff.

In his first game after missing the last two with an ankle injury, Blue hopes those kinds of plays on special teams and what he showed on offense can convince the Cowboys' staff that he deserves a spot on the 53-man roster.

"Just the versatility I bring, man," Blue said when asked why the Cowboys should bet on him. "I could do multiple things, whether it's special teams running the ball out of the backfield, catching passes, and just having that explosion of that can break at any moment."

"I'm just not runner that can run a ball outside," Blue said. "I can also run between the tackles, I can break tackles, run through contact and things like that. So that just showed that I'm not just that scat back or speed back, I can also run a ball in tight spaces…"

"For me as a rookie, I just wanted to come in and just do whatever to help the team," Blue said. "Whether that's me being just a third down guy or a three down back. So whatever it takes to help the team get to that championship."

he needs to stay healthy, that's the most important aspect of being a RB in the NFL.
Any position at any time. Oh, Tony Dorsett was some kind of giant, huh? All players carry some kind of injury through a season.

Brian mentioned that on the pregame show Friday.
All teams, and just about all players at this time after TC. Have some type of injury even if just soreness, or something to that effect, heading into the season.

A lot of players these days won't play "hurt". Hangnail? "Can't hurt my franchise, bro".

Zeke was an exception.

The guy with a reputation for not getting it done consistently in college, coming it and not getting it done in PS LOL

But, in talking he is great

Will fit right in with Jerry and Dak and Diggs and Micah

As I realize he can do all those things but I prefer to make sure you're not hammering him on 1st downs between the tackles We have those guys you use Williams you use Mafa and I want to make sure you give Blue his chance to be what Tony Pollard was before you tried to make him a 3 down back..

Tony Pollard injury did not really have an effect on why he became less impactful the big plays the long runs when you put that kind of mileage on a guy and you make him Get his body banged up more inside you're going to lose something..

So yes, eventually maybe blue can do those things in games but I want them to be a surprise you know what I mean I don't know if they run the delayed draw or things like it you want to surprise people when you have a dude get through the hole that quick inside but you don't want him on 1st downs running up inside when most teams are expecting a run up inside...

I want him used just like Tony Pollard was used his first three seasons Change of pace get more big plays long runs hopefully more touchdowns and let the other guys bang up in there on a regular basis...

Tell ability would be important for all positions but according to the NFL it is tough to stay healthy I don't know if you noticed but I don't care what position you're playing look what happened to Ferguson last year tight end got hurt twice Yes we hope he can stay healthy by acting like you can plan for an injury or avoid it it's kind of tough it's a tough sport.....

This isn't just a Dallas Cowboy thing last year with all the injuries 2020 but look at what happened to San Francisco last year Detroit defense I mean it is A battle of attrition you got to try to avoid the big season ending injuries... The Rest are expected; Dings, sprains, strains etc etc

Well as a Longhorn fan, I was excited about overshown, I knew what was coming, I just hoped that he could stay on the field and so far it's been hit and miss, but he's a star in the waiting.. so I was pretty excited to get him and yeah, I don't want to be a homer but Blues also an ex-Longhorn But I'm not going to have big expectations for him... I just want him to be in the rotation and have an impact do what Tony Pollard did his first 3 seasons here backing up Ezekiel Elliott....

Exactly. Before social media spawned an entirely new platform for fan engagement, and its own industry profit, fans just didn’t know about it.

There would be a one line mention in an article on page 7 of the sports page with little or no comment and it was no big deal.

Coach's call, we'll see...let him have his pride.

Other than being stuck behind stellar running backs all through college and some fumbling issues that it appears he has worked on, where is this reputation you speak of?

Coaches and Scouts like him...

Post a proof quote stating your words...

He may end up sucking or he may end up being a world beater but spouting nonsense about him at this point is just that, nonsense.
Nonsense...it is a fact everyone in staff likes him and contrary to your posting. You here prove he doesn't strongly make roster.

Who exactly do you represent in scouting? Prove a source contrary or you here fail. Your implied failure is insult.

 :popcorn: Take your wrinkled calendar out of your pocket...:hammer:

He wants to be more of a player than just speed!:muttley:
