Jaydon Blue reminds me of Tony Dorsett

Similar size and speed:

  • Tony Dorsett: 5' 11", 192 lbs, 4.30 40 time
  • Jaydon Blue: 5' 9.5", 196 lbs, 4.38 40 time
The Dallas Cowboys have not had this much speed at running back since Tony Dorsett.

Similar running styles: "free flowing" running style where they can slip and slide while having more of a north/south running style than an east/west but still able to change direction and juke opponents. Quick burst when hitting a hole and lots of speed, plus a breakaway home run threat.

Also, Jaydon Blue has very low college rushing miles, barely turned 21 today on March 13, 2025, and is a very fresh dual threat weapon at running back just like Tony Dorsett was coming out of college.

Would love to see the Cowboys draft Jaydon Blue. What say you?

They’re all better than Jeanty. He stopped producing the harder their opponents became.
That happens to just about every RB that faces better defenses. Blue isn't anywhere near Jeantys level.
Jeanty had over 100 yards against Penn State even with them selling out to stop him.

Eh, I think he’s a lot closer to the Peat kid we signed as an UDFA out of Missouri who’s playing in Canada than he is to Dorestt!

I may be in the minority but I'm not as a high on Blue. If he has an open lane he can exploit it with his speed, however, he runs with absolutely no power and doesn't break tackles most running backs can. Look at the vast majority of his highlights. They're typically of him being untouched.

Even as a 3rd down back I prefer Brashard Smith over Blue.
