Signed by Cowboys Jaydon Blue signs 4-year deal

There isn't much to negotiate on these rookie deals. The CBA outlines the length and the rookie wage scale is based on draft position. None of the contracts in rounds 2-7 are fully guaranteed. So, when you are a 6th round pick and on the fringes of making a team, the last thing you want to do is be a difficult signing. Blue is smart to sign and show he is eager to get to work.

Yes, and we get him for 4 freaking years.

And when we use him up, and he wants a 2nd contract, fans can hate on him.

Nobody hated on Pollard or Dowdle, if that's your example. Our FO took the criticism there, not Tony or Rico. The only RB in recent memory who endured the wrath of the fan base was Zeke bc he held out to get his deal early and then proceeded to suck.

We need to book mark this thread so as this kid gets acclimated to NFl and starts doing well we can call out people that say he is contract year player.

There’s a rookie pay scale.
Yeah, you can thank Emmitt Smith for that last I checked a lot of these rules in the NFL became from our players good bad or different, but he held out before his rookie year then he held out again... That and I believe Sam Bradford might have been the last player to get some kind of Super Record deal like an insane overpriced contract that made the NFL look and say you know what the veterans deserve more that money..
