Jaydon Blue would be our slot receiver

We stop this right now this guy is built exactly like Jamir Gibbs he's a running back he is not a receiver yes, he's a good receiving back but he's not going to be our receiver.. Get this through your mind he's a very good running back he is a lot like Tony Pollard but he's built like Gibbs you do realize that Emmett Smith was 5 foot 9 I don't remember what he was as a rookie but he was around 200 10 pounds maybe 215 you realize this guy is 5 foot 9 200 pounds? Why can't you figure out that this is just a really fast Running back that can be used like a running back he's not a three down power back he's not your super short yardage guy but he's also not a gadget guy this is not just a guy who catches passes out of the backfield he is not lucky Whitehead or any other things that people are trying to pitch and hold this player he's a good running back... The only reason to hitting that bigger stats in college was for two reasons 1 he was buried behind a bunch of really good elite 5 star running backs in Texas the last three seasons and when he anytime that he finally would get snaps he'd make it great ones he was a spark plug a lot of times when our offense wasn't doing well and I say hour because I'm a Longhorn fan and yeah I'm a little bit of a homer here but I'm trying to be unbiased he made things happen he had big plays. He had like 14 touchdowns with very limited touches last year... 8 on the ground six from receiving but he can run from the backfield he doesn't need to be stretched to the outside he doesn't need to be put in motion he's a real running back...

I don't understand this this guy is not Turpin, Turpin can be our slot receiver,

we have that guy on our team already maybe that's why they're not that concerned we have a guy that can do some more dirty work in Tolbert and they're not done bringing a receiver, but you want a slot receiver, you can put Turpin full time in the slot, and he'll do some nice stuff..

See I think maybe you guys are snowed over and don't realize how bad our offensive staff was last year utilizing players how they didn't even use Tony Pollard right in his last year here because somehow they paid him $11 million on the franchise tag they used him like a three down back and that was a mistake basically think about early on young Tony Pollard preinjury Tony Pollard the way he was used behind Ezekiel Elliott and just think about doing that just a little bit better with blue...

That's it it's that simple we have another version of Tony Pollard that's built like Jamir Gibbs i'm not going to say he's going to be Gibbs but he's exactly the same height weight and the same speed and and everyone's turning one player in the receiver and the other one they see as a top running back..

100!!! Exactly but I'll take it a step further he is basically Tony Pollard he needs to be used like Tony Pollard he may not be a 3 down back but he's also not just a gadget guy he's not a guy you have to get outside the tackles or have to put in motion he can run from the eye formation he can run from a 2 back scent you just can't overuse him like they did with Tony Pollard when he was here in his last year on a franchise tag they tried to treat him like a 3 down back and that's not what you use these guys for you took his best trade away by wearing him down,,

And I agree with you 100% this is not a receiver he should not be looked at as a gadget player he is a very good running back that will rotate in and we need to use somebody else to get The Dirty yard short yardage we'll figure it out and yes 100 percent Turpin has never been used right he could probably be our number two wide receiver out of the slot 50% of the time and they can use Tolbert the other 30% of the time that is as it sits today and I think they're going to bring in another receiver shortly like Amari Cooper or Keenan Allen or somebody like him.

How people keep forgetting about Turpin I don't get it he should be used twice as much as he's been used on offense and he can come out of the slot and in motion and he can do a lot of good stuff hell they could probably use vaughn for that as well our coaching staff from the last three seasons just had no clue our head coach just didn't have vision we need this coaching staff to do a better job utilizing skills of specific players to make sure they are out there best and they did not do that they absolutely fumbled that opportunity...

That's the thing I believe that blue didn't go earlier like in the 3rd round because he has a fumbling issue that's it they watched a lot of film on him and he had a lot of fumbles for the little bit of touches he had his speed his ability to be a running back and he had 14 touchdowns I mean the guys a playmaker so hopefully he's not a fumbler here in the nfl they'll try to get him professional help and work on it it can be fixed..

It would keep Blue and his speed on the field more with reps at Running back and slot receiver, yes he would be a mismatch in the slot .That is probably what Dallas had in mind when they drafted him.

Issue becomes who are you taking slot reps away from to do that? Do you want Lamb to see less time in the slot and Turpin off the field more? Can blue run block well enough to stay on the field at WR? He should get some opportunities, but if this team can stay somewhat healthy I think Blue is gonna struggle to get meaningful snaps at WR.

I agree just move him around between Running back and slot, if he is running down the field in the slot it will open the field for the other running backs.If blue is at running back he will help the passing game,defenses will respect his speed where ever he is playing.
 
I doubt we line Blue up in the slot for one snap all year. If you want offensive creativity, Brian Schottenheimer is not your guy.
 
I prefer Blue to be a RB and break a few off. Lamb is a slot guy. Turpin is a slot guy. They are already pretty good at that. Dallas just needs to stop trying to be the smartest guys in the room.
 
I'll be happy if we can just run a screen effectively again like we use to with young Zeke.
