Look more like Willis McGehee injury.
May drop till 3rd round or later.

No way. McGahee went in the first round and Smith will be no different. Besides, he has no reason to stay in school if he can't play and has a $5 million insurance policy on him if he falls out of the first round.

Jack likely had the same injury, his only advantage is he'll be ready for training camp.

Not certain what type of injury Smith had but it looks bad. Like ACL, PCL bad. Jack had menicus tear nothing like ACL/PCL injury. Smith basically will redshirt his rookie season if those two ligaments were torn.

ACL injuries are so commonplace nowadays and the technology to repair and replace so advanced that I don't consider them a big red flag, not at his age anyway.

Rumor is he may have torn both the ACL and MCL and could be looking at a long recovery period.

Really awful news for the kid if true. He had elite skills.

If he is going to miss next season, that could really hurt his stock. 1st it probably knocks him out of the 1st Rd. If he goes in the 2nd, the injury will basically only give you 3 years from a 2nd Rd pick with the new rules. I could see teams in the early 2nd not want to do that. I could honestly see him dropping to the 3rd Rd. So unfortunate for him. That injury probably cost him 20+ million dollars.

I would give the kid a shot with a 3 rounder.

If Smith has a major injury then no way. You only get 4 years and Year One would be a waste, We are strong at MLB. ( I would bring McClain back on a incentive deal)
