Jaylon Smith

He's way better than he was last year so win win right there.

Jaylon is playing like a quality starting MLB in his 3rd year. Why people think that’s a poor second round pick is beyond me.

He hasn’t been elite yet. But he is solid right now and getting better with each game.

I’m not worried about him.

I don't know what people are looking at. I know what I'm looking at. That guy is a beast. He's the heart of the defense now. His speed and awareness at awesome. He, Sean Lee and LVE are awesome. If we had better safety play those plays that went long wouldn't have happened. Frazier was out of position on that Luckett TD. The TD that went down the seam could have been prevented with better safety play. That is our weakness, definitely not jaylon Smith or anyone on the front seven

Jaylon currently leading the team in tackles (22), 2nd on the team in sacks (2) while only played in 19 games thus far in his career coming off what most would consider a career ending injury.

Some of this Fanbase is about as sharp as a marble if they think Jaylon Smith is an issue with this team.

Not sure what people are watching. Must be because they didn't like the pick to begin with. Jaylon has been the best LB on the team this year, followed by Leighton. Joe Thomas was the preseason hero but don't hear y'all complaining about him. Seriously of all the things wrong with the team y'all complaining about the best LB on the team...... Haha

Well, the Zeke pick being a win now pick I agree with. It's just that it was the wrong "win now" pick to make. Beefing up the defense would have been the much better pick for a Romo led team that year. The offense didn't need Zeke if Romo was the QB. But, we neglect the defense in order to make the offense all world because it doesn't work without a top QB, top RB, top WR, top TE and best offensive line.

Using hindsight, the Zeke pick was the best pick up for a Dak led offense. But we then see the defense played like absolute crap in the playoff game.

One defensive player makes the defense a little less crappy in 2016. Zeke makes a good offense dominant in 2016 with Romo. I go with the latter as the win now strategy.

As for the defense, I thought the DC prepared and called the game like crap. Marinelli was completely pantsed in the first half. Then he made a huge idiot call on the big pass. 3 man rush with a spy was so dumb. Let Rodgers run. Encourage him too. Instead Marinelli took one defender out of the play as a spy and let Rodgers buy time by rolling to the sideline with Crawford plodding after him.

I think Jaylon is playing pretty good. LVE is being overhyped, IMO.

I still don't think we should have taken Jaylon in the second. I think we could have gotten him in the third or fourth. I haven't seen truth to the rumors that New England would have taken him.
Having said that, his three years into a devastating knee injury. I doubt he's 100 percent, and he's likely ginger to the fact that he injured his knee before. He's extremely fast for a linebacker. I still think by next year, he'll be fully healed and a terror.

It was always the strategy. Make the offense Romo friendly and try to outscore the opponent because we couldn’t rely on the defense. Of course, would have loved to play up tempo to increase scoring opportunity instead of getting the sports car on the autobahn and staying in the right hand lane the entire game, limiting scoring opportunities because the defense had to be hidden.

Zeke was part of the design to make us an unstoppable *ball control* offense, which scores and simultaneously protects the defense.

It would have been nice to see Tony really unleashed from the ball control philosophy. I always wanted to see 4 and 5 wide, with Romo playing point guard. So many Romo dreams that never came true. Must have been galling for him not to get a chance behind the wheel in 2016.

We did see it. Offense would struggle all day and then click in the 2 minute drill.

And I was disappointed Romo couldn’t play more than 3 preseason snaps with Zeke. That decision ruined the franchise, in hindsight. Romo not getting hurt wouldn’t have allowed Dak to look good.

He won the Butkus Award his last year. Now you can debate whether he was the best LB in college that year (and that’s a fair debate) but to suggest he wasn’t playing well is kind of silly.

Stop it, its baby cry time. Dont get in the way.
