Jaylon Smith

Just wanted to say there’s no player I have more respect for than Jaylon Smith. After suffering a torn ACL and LCL with severed nerves and told his career was probably over, he’s come back to be a force in the NFL. This guy worked at Burger King during college so he had a little of his own money to pay for gas. He never stops smiling and his attitude is infectious throughout the locker room. I’ve never heard any of the haters here give him any credit as they are too focused on hating. He is one of the best storied in the entire NFL and we are extremely lucky to have him. We can all learn from his perseverance, attitude and dedication throughout his entire career.

Jaylon Smith has “haters?”

You only hear what you want to hear! A lot of your so called haters ate crow on here last year. Pull your head outta your butt and stop being THE HATER on here!

Carson Wentz’s ballboy and that CalPolyITT Tech guy come to mind as adamant that Jaylon wouldn’t ever recover enough to be worth the pick. There were others. They are notoriously quiet these days on Jaylon threads

You’re an idiot.

Feel free to find a post of mine stating any of that and expose me.

The only thing I argued adamantly about was the fact he’d likely have to wear a brace his second year, which I was 100% spot on about.

Even Cowboys haters like Jaylon Smith.

I hope he never leaves Dallas but I will still be a fan of him and his game if he does.
Nope. If he leaves in free agency (or demands a trade) I, and every other Cowboys fan, should and will refer to him as Judas. Because there's no way he was getting drafted before the 4th or 5th round if the Cowboys didn't take the early draft flier on him.

The Cowboys are past giving out dumb contracts since Brandon Carr. Just like Tanks contract, I expect Dak’s, Cooper’s, Zeke’s and Jaylon’s all to be fair to both sides.
See that's what I am talking about.. Its these agents. Daks is asking for Wilson money.. I am hearing that we have put together a offer for Elliot, SJ already aid he has money to start talking with gurly money. If his agent asks for 2 million per year more than gurly then its not right.. These guys have to come down. Cooper is waiting but his stats aren't going to match what the top WR make..

Like a moth to a flame.

Here’s the pseudo intellectual that had folks believing Jaylon Smith was playing without his brace his second season. Then he conveniently disappeared for months rather than face the music.

In today’s PC parlance he’s what you call a mental small person.

:lmao: However you have to rationalize things.

I bought his jersey so...

Drafting Jaylon Smith was a gamble that paid off across the board: great talent, great character and a great show of commitment in overcoming his injuries.

Talk about leadership...

I REALLY want Dallas to sign him long term-especially if he has another monster year. Jaylon very well could have went #3 to the Chargers in the 2016 draft.

Ease up. He still has the right to make the best living he can, and if it gets to the point somewhere in the future the Cowboys don’t feel they can pay his value, it’s silly to suggest it would be wrong for him to move along. That’s life in the NFL for all players. If the Cowboys picked him too high, it was their choice. They weren’t doing it as a favor to Jaylon, they were just trying to get a good deal on a good player.

I'm glad Dak's deal didn't get done in March when it could have. No way he should be getting Russell Wilson money. I don't blame his agents for trying. I'm sure Dallas' original offer was a little more than Kirk Cousins deal. Meet in the middle.

Same here. If I had to bet, he would give Dallas a minor discount. Maybe take a few million less a year. We will see. Don't think they have to worry about him until after 2020 season if I am right.
Maybe a few million over the life of his contract, but a few million a year would be a massive discount

Agree
I hated the pick because we lost 2 years but he is an amazing player and should only get better

Nothing but respect for him
