Good read and take on "tackle" stats. Heath had a lot of tackles this season as well.

I have no idea if his nerve issue will improve, but it seems doubtful at this point.

He could get a little better with experience and if limited to the base defense only but I think Hitchens and even Durant are better at this point.

I feel bad because he's still my dude and he's physically not right at the moment, but a spade is a spade.
I think once he hit the field, expectations were way to high. 1) He hasnt played in almost 2 years 2) He wasnt quite 100 % when he did start playing.

At this point he needs to be taken off the field as a full time player and given a role he may be able to thrive at this year

I'm not sure taking him off the field helps. I think he's only on the field because the team's looked at the backup options and decided they're not any better.

In an ideal scenario where we have 3 stud LBs, sure, Jaylon could roam the sidelines and only get put into the game in certain situations or packages designed for him. But when the staff has looked at the depth chart and decided he's one of the best 3 LBs available to us, they'd be hard-pressed to bench him just based on the idea that his development might be aided by going slower.

I'd like to see them give him some chances to "attack" more. It feels like he's mostly in "react" mode all the time. Maybe give him a heftier dose of blitz assignments to give him a chance to pin his ears back and attack somebody. Maybe that would help things click and shift him from "react" to "attack."

I'm not sure how much of his poor play is based on his health/injury, and how much is just being rusty. If it's an issue of no longer being as athletically gifted as he was before the injury, I'm not sure what can be done except hope for him to figure out how to play smart instead of relying entirely on raw gifts that he no longer has. If it's just about being rusty, I feel like things could click and fall into place at any time -- probably more likely to happen while actually playing as opposed to watching other people play from the sideline.

Are they? I thought almost everyone agreed that he is not good and needs to be replaced at least for this season.
Read again and think about what I said differently.

Its not about if Jaylon is good enough this year. It’s the But But But trolling comment that is said only to provoke people who don’t agree. I’m surprised that line is still being used on forums.

Jaylon needs to be playing early downs and blitzing right now and that's about it; unfortunately we haven't put him in a position to succeed without Lee on the field. Eventually the rust will knock off and he'll be fine diagnosing and attacking or carrying someone in coverage, but for now let's just take advantage of what he can do well, and that's attack in a straight line.

After the bye I'd run him at Sam, with Hitchens and Lee and middle and weak side.

Jaylon is a weakside linebacker. I'm not sure he is physical enough to play Middle linebacker. Don't really see the instincts yet. Maybe he is thinking too much idk but always seem a step or two late or just easily blocked. I mean it doesn't help the way we play and our DT's don't really command a double team. I just hope next year or towards the end of the year things can start to click for him and he start to make plays. I think if he was at weakside backer instead of Middle linebacker he would be better.
