I believe one of the reason Jaylon Smith was released was the consistent performance of Jayron Kearse who can play run as LB or go out in coverage as a Safety.

Also Jabril Cox is overrated, just because you went to a big school doesn’t automatically make you a NFL stater or a JAG.

Really?

Popcorn Head is a new word I'm about to start using. Imma be driving down the street screwing Popcorn Head at pedestrians.

Dont know why I am bothering, but I am....

Why exactly is Jabril Cox overrated?

Kearse has been playing lights out…. Neal has been playing solid ball as well. Gotta believe the decision to cut Jaylon is also factoring in Cox’s progression and ability to contribute.

We have lots of speed and versatility at the second level of this D. Jaylon was regularly missing assignments and was unable (or unwilling) to stack and shed and fill his gap aggressively.

We are developing a young, fast, aggressive, and mentally tough defense. Been a long time coming

How do you proclaim Cox as overrated given the fact it's 4 games into his rookie season, he has yet to play, and Dallas had enough confidence in their younger players to release J.Smith?

Smith got cut because he is terrible. His team mates see the matador tackles and blown assignments. 2 years of his delusional garbage. He deserved the cut. Cox will play more, the will add a LB or 2 to the mix, and probably draft a LB early. The 2018 LB core rested on their laurels. Time to fix this problem.

While Kearse is playing well, keep in mind both him and Neal signed 1-year deals so the better the both of them play the higher their contract demands will go up, making them possibly unsignable to Dallas so it's important to get guys like Cox playing time.

That poster makes up fantasy arguments in their head and decides to share with us on an almost daily basis.
It was Bradlee Anae vs Gregory earlier this season, claiming anae was the next LT as well.

Please show proof that someone as overrated him. Don’t confuse excitement for a draft pick as being overrated.

Oh never mind, I just realized who posted this!

Last year everyone was arguing that maybe "x" player played good in the preseason and could maybe at least play league average defense over "y" player who was terrible. This year we are arguing "x" player is playing great and "y" player who played great in the preseason may not be able to crack the lineup due to the depth (by the way, we cut player "z" because we have too many good players that deserve more reps over him).

I like this year's arguments waaaaay better.

Substituting players with equal talent is what separates defenses. The fact Dallas is working in the direction with LB's and safeties is a great sign. Enjoy the process, Amigos

who has overrated Cox? He was a 4th rd pick in the draft. He has shown glimps camp and coaches seem to like him. No one has claimed him to be a HOF, no one has claimed him to be a pro bowler. Right now he is just a young raw player that has some physical gifts.

Then again you claimed Parson to be over rated so what do you know. lol

Cox? We'll see on him. I think Dallas just should go out and trade or draft a true run stopping LB. I really don't see one on the team. Jaylon was not the only one not putting his body in the gap and closing it. We just need a guy like Ken Norton, Lockhart or Smith type. These three guys not only went to the gap but closed it up.

Kearse is a baller I hope they keep him at safety. Neal is worlds better than jaylon is.I would like to see more of Cox in fact Id like to see more of anyone not named jaylon and while football can be a tough business he got his and hell get more someone will pick him up.

You're the same poster who started a thread back in April before the draft that the Cowboys should have given up this year's 1st, 2nd, two 3rds and next year's 2nd & 3rd rounders, plus TE Daunte Schultz as trade to the Rams for DT Aaron Donald.

Just be quiet already and stop creating more crazy threads. Sheesh!
