Veldheer is my pet cat; that fullback from Missouri State looks very interesting. Question is is how good of a blocker is he?

02/28/2010 - Missouri State's Clay Harbor did 30 repetitions in the 225-pound bench press, a total that was tops for all tight ends at the combine this year. Harbor ran a 4.69-second 40-yard dash, which was slower than he hoped but still fourth best among tight ends. - Jim Thomas, The St. Louis Post-Dispatch
02/26/2010 - Before all is said and done, somebody from the Rams' organization will have talked to just about every one of the 330 draft prospects here at the NFL Scouting Combine. That being said, St. Louis does seem to be showing interest in at least two prospects from the Show-Me State: offensive lineman Kurtis Gregory from the University of Missouri and tight end Clay Harbor from Missouri State. "The Rams sound like they're interested," said Harbor, who caught 59 passes for 729 yards and four touchdowns last season for the Bears. "I talked to a few different (Rams) scouts and they all like how I play, and how I'm physical and can catch and run. I talked to them at the all-star games. I talked to them when they came and visited the school to get a scouting report on me. And I've actually talked to them here." Harbor played in both the East-West Shrine and the Texas vs. the Nation college all-star games. He said he's also talked to Rams tight ends coach Frank Leonard on the phone prior to the combine. As for Gregory, who started 41 consecutive games for the Tigers at guard and tackle, he's getting acquainted with Rams offensive line coach Steve Loney. "He actually called me last week and just got some general stuff out of the way so we could talk football here," Gregory said. - Jim Thomas, St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Now these are true players from "small schools" ...opposed to the non-BCS schools that some uninformed here call small schools. In other words, TCU, BYU, Troy, USF, ECU, S Miss, Houston, etc are not small school programs. Just thought I'd clear that up ;)

Does anyone think we have a shot at Veldheer in the 2nd, or will he be one of those players that goes higher than people expect. If he falls to our 2nd round pick I hope we take him. Unless some other teams gives us a very good trade offer. I would love to have him sit on the bench for a year behind Flo.
