CB KOREY LINDSEY-WOODS, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
KLW isn’t 6’0, 200 pounds and has vines for arms so I get it… some don’t think he’s a NFL player. They prefer that 6’1, 200 pound corner who can’t play dead in a western. I personally prefer a player like Woods who can be a solid cover two corner and provide some quality plays on special teams. His ball skills and production can’t be ignored and I hope his injury during the pro days doesn’t affect his stock as he truly deserves to go in the top 5 rounds despite some listing him as a 7th round or free agent value.
RB TAIWAN JONES, EASTERN WASHINGTON
Jones ran in the 4.25-4.36 range at his pro day and finished the 2010 season as a first-team All-American with 1,742 yards and 14 touchdowns while missing a few games due to injury. Yet people are nitpicking him about his fumbles, which the 17 in two years is not correct, and believe his injury history will push him into the 5th round or later. The tape doesn’t lie and it shows an explosive back with breakaway speed, great hands, and outstanding talent that I don’t see falling past the top 100.
WR ANDRE HOLMES, HILLSDALE
Holmes was initially found in 2009 when scouts were flocking to Hillsdale to check out OT Jared Veldheer (3rd round, Oakland) and like most of the scouts I really liked what I saw in Holmes. He’s faster than you expect because he covers so much ground with his long stride, has great size, and showed the talent to win jump ball situations using his body well. His QB has gotten some attention and I believe Holmes is a big reason for it. His frame, hands, and speed will make it very tough for someone not to take him yet many out there don’t have him in the draft.
