Hadn't seen it around here and if posted sorry, https://mobile.twitter.com/JC_PUNISHER_GA

I'm guessing handing the 34 too Williams and well I really believe if the coaching staff told him he needs too loose weight and get too 250 is cause they want too keep him around too be our fullback, he calls himself the punisher sent by god so if I was a player playing against him I just hope he don't come blocking my way lol

What I am curios is if I should read anything into this.

Moose retired 15 years ago but 48 is an iconic number like 88 and 54.

I think that the Cowboys do consider the numbers they give to certain players. It was not a mistake that they gave Dez 88. Haven't seen 12 in a long time. Haven't seen anybody with 22 either. I don't think it's a reach to make the connection to Copeland and the number 48. Doesn't mean that he will make the team and be great but I certainly think that the Cowboys want him to be worthy of the number. JMO

He better take that number seriously and lose the weight.

I think the staff is probably rooting for Copeland to make the team. Particularly if he can wall off the edge blocking.

Yep...

But they gave Bobby Carpenter #54, too.

Hard to imagine that everybody in the organization was so wrong about him. I think that was just one of those cases where his Dad was such a tough, tough player that nobody could believe that his Son would be exactly opposite. I think they saw the athleticism and they just felt like he was not coached properly and hadn't learned how to play the physical part of the game. I think they felt as if they could probably teach him that and together with his athletic ability, we would see a special player. That's all I can think of because I watched him play at Ohio State and I just never liked the guy. This is not to say that I know more or anything of the sort because I was definitely not alone. There were others who didn't either but we were not as close to the situation as I think many in the NFL were.

That's the only thing I can think of.
