Jeanty vs Hampton

Once again, compare their numbers. He has more rushing yards, receiving yards, and TDs than McCaffery and they were from the same draft class.

Yes McCaffery at his peak is better, but his numbers arent
Again, Kamara has played close to 20 more games than McCaffery.

Jeanty not running is weird…makes me think he’s probably a high 4.4s / 4.5 guy.
boise guys were expecting, if he ran, to be around 4.37- 4.38, remember he was clocked at 21.7 mph in a game last year and multiple runs over 20, he also squats 700 lbs, he probably could do more but the BSU coaches won't let him try.

Again, all that says is Kamara has healthier and more productive
Lol,
Kamara has never played a full season.
When they’ve played, Mccaffery could play in the role of the main back. Kamara has had to be coddled in a back by committee and change of pace!

If both are available, would it be better to the bigger Hampton ? Hampton is about the same size as Zeek, and I believe would hold up better in pass protection.
I don't believe we will have to worry about picking between the two of them.

No way he's that fast. He might be fast enough, but not that fast. If he were, he'd have run.

Do we really need Jeanty to run? Lol I think his body of work is rock solid and requires no further display. Conversely, Will Johnson was and is hurt, recovering from injury. He played only in 6-7 games this year and played outstanding in those games, his body of work is very lacking. It's a small sample size. He needs to provide further proof that he's healthy and should run. Jeanty will be top 10 pick etched in stone. Johnson's stock is all over the place depending who you talk to. He can make some money by running.
Yes, yes we do.

Starting with the combine, its about how players respond to a process. Do they embrace competition. Do they do what is expected of them.

He skipped the combine and now has skipped the pro day. He is clearly affraid that he wont put up very good numbers. Probably a 4.5 guy.

I'd drop him a round just because of the above.

I cant stand these entitled athletes now a days.

Jeanty's balance and tackle breaking is at a superpower level that we just don't often see. You start reaching for comparisons like Alvin Kamara, Lynch, LaDanian Tomlinson, etc, because he's in that kind of rarefied air.

Hampton is a big, fast dude with a well-rounded game, but nothing about him says "we won't see this for another 2 or 3 draft classes".
:hammer:You nailed it. Jeanty is the pick.

Clearly not or maybe you missed the PSU game?

Jeanty broke 16 tackles on 33 touches in that game. Superpower stuff.
Is that a real stat bc he averaged 3.5 YPC. He also fumbled. I watched the game. It was not a great audition for the NFL and then he skips his 40. I didn't put the remote down thinking "wow, this guy is going to be special in the NFL".

I don't care where he's drafted. Just don't him in Dallas this high in the draft.

Jeanty got 78% of his yardage in that game after contact - which is right in line with his absurd 75% yards after contact rate for the season. He just got hit a lot earlier than usual.

Yardage after contact and broken tackles are a lot more predictive of NFL success than yardage before contact. The latter is what the OL + defense is doing, the former is what the back's doing. And Jeanty's broken tackle numbers are all-timer level.
