Stolen from twitter with some good observations

Cowboys can run all day against this look.

2nd play. After this one GB will have 2 carries for 27 yards. You can run on this.

. @BryanBroaddus if DAL comes out in this personnel would DET counter with this? Please say yes.

To contrast. WSH gives same look with no TE. DET really believes in their front to win.

WSH lining up against strong right gun.

DET vs strong right gun.

Same look vs CHI. DET believes those 6 can stop the run.

Cowboys line can make these blocks. Lots of green back there.

get your pads low and turn those fools.. i hope Detroit is foolish enough to think they can stymie our running game with 6 man fronts

What downs were those? Dallas does not get those looks on 1st down lol.
They lined up like this on the first play of the Packers game. Lacy went for 22 yards. No way they do that against us. Looks like this is the same play as the first tweet posted above.

Caldwell suggested Murray and Lacy were similar players so I'd guess you're probably right.

It probably depends more on how they view Romo vs. Rodgers. I had initially thought that the Lions would not continue giving this look throughout their game given they got gashed to oblivion on the first drive. But here they are deep into the second quarter with only 6 in the box against a 22 formation. Not sure if that's just serious disrespect for the Packers running game or serious respect for Rodgers.

Play action deep to Dez on the first play of the game. That message would be thorough coming from the Cowboys: "we will do what we want on your defense. We're the dictators!"

If they call a game like that on defense, I'd just keep running the ball until they changed plans.

Come on now. If we are talking about it on a forum, surely the Lions will not pull this on the Boys. Surely....

My guess is Detroit decided if they were gonna lose, it wasn't gonna be Rodgers who beat them. My guess is Detroit will decide that if they are going to lose Sunday, it's not gonna be Demarco Murray who beats them.

I don't mean to keep bringing this thread up, but I keep watching more of their games, and they do this almost non-stop. It's really surprising. They rely so heavily on their front four, and to be honest, they're not all that and a bag of chips. They play exclusively 2 deep zone coverage with their safeties, almost never bringing a safety into the box. But people just refuse to run on them.

Forte went 10 yards on this play, up the middle.

Great analysis.

This game will be won in the trenches and our OL has been winning for us all season. I don't expect that to change.

Good point. That formation is daring a team to run which the Cowboys will do with no problem.

I can't imagine they'd give us that look on any first down. Not with how heavily we lean run. If they do, we're going to have a lot of 2nd and short.

Another example of a team refusing to run against a defense that doesn't load the box. It's 2nd and 2. Tampa Bay comes out with a 2 TE formation. Detroit has a basic, base 4-3 defensive scheme. And what do the Bucs do? Throw an incompletion. Dallas would have picked up 5 and kept the clock running.

Edit: Actually, that's not a 2 TE formation -- it's an extra lineman (off the right tackle)!
