for the 2007 season. And are talking contract extension. Per Charlie Casserly on Fox pregame.
I was hoping he did the 2007 season, BP stays for 2007. Then Fisher for 2008.

He saisd BP still has gas in the tank and expects him back.

He's got gas alright.

soooo....just hypothetically speaking, if BP decides to hang it up and JJ decides to go after Fisher, does that mean it'll require compensation (draft picks) to acquire his services?

You can't get draft picks for coaches.

I still would like to have Fisher.

Sure you can. The Jets recieved a first for Parcells from NE and a first for Belichick.

I think that they changed the rules after Gruden to Tampa Bay.

I didn't realize that. So what's the current rule for going after coaches under contract? Surely there must be some sort of compensation.

I thought the NFL did away with this........

i would love Fisher here but after all the fun and the bright future the titans have with Vince as their QB no way he leaves the Titans. I have a lot of respect for Jeff Fisher and has shown to be a very good if not great coach

I don't think that there is anything that can be done if the coach is under contract now. Unless the coaches current team releases him of it.

I am saying if after the 2007 season, and Fisher is not under contract, then JJ may look at bringing him in, if BP retires, or JJ just wants to make a change to a younger coach. That way he knows he will have a coach for 4 or 5 years, instead of year to year.

However, like mentioned above, with the success of Vince, Fisher will most likely extend his contract and stay.
