I know he opted for baseball over football.....but I didn't know he was a pitcher. I always thought he was an infielder.

I was surprised to see him pitching against the my Astros tonight in the 9th inning.

He sure did make it to the majors rather quickly....either he has really good stuff, or the Cubs are hurting for relievers.

No he was a 5th rounder. He made it to the bigs last year already and was REALLY solid, struggling a bit more this year. He has been back and forth from AAA all year and is actually a starter when he is in AAA. He throws very hard, last year he hit the 100s and is consistently in the high 90s.

He has good stuff but he does not have enough pitches and he sometimes has location problems. All typical of young pitchers but he has some excellent velocity and pretty good movement on his fastball. I really haven't watched him enough to see how he is progressing but I've heard that the Cubs think he can be part of their starting rotation by next year.

I was cheering for him last week against the Phils. He ended up losing the game, but I'm sure he'll have nice MLB career.

He's good enough to the point that I could pretty confidently say you'd be talking about him as one of the top young pitchers in the game if he had skipped college or gone to college and focused only on baseball.

Unlikely for pitchers; arm problems are just too numerous and frequent. But we can hope.

Made the right choice-probably will make more money then in football and his body won't get all beaten up.
