I was not able to watch the game, I was wondering how these two played. I heard Jenkins got burned multiple times.....

Meh. They played like Rookies.

Jenkins almost gave up an 80 yard touchdown when he left his man to help out against a WR that was already covered.

Jenkins looked lost out there IMO. Torry Holt runs some nice routes though.

Jenkins played pretty well in the 2nd half and on most plays, had pretty good coverage even when he gave up a completion. The biggest mistake he made was leaving his guy for another WR and nearly giving up a 90+ yd TD. Who knows why he did it.

Scandrick didnt get throw at as much, nor did the Rams really play alot of formations that put us in nickel/dime alot. Henry was the worst DB on the field for us yesterday IMO.

I think both guys are going to be very good.

Yep. Scandrick looked OK. Jenkins looked pretty bad the first half, but picked it up in the second.

Jenkins was lucky on that overthrown ball...he was completely lost. He had great coverage on a few of the passes he gave up...he didn't turn in time to play the ball.

I imagine they both learned a lesson or two out there on sunday...one can only hope.

Scandrick looked alright. Jenkins looked really lost out there. I don't think either looks as bad as Henry does right now.

thanks for the feedback. I'm really high on both of these guys, I think they both have that confidence factor to be good corners in this league, they also have that speed and athletic ability.

i just want to spend a couple minutes speaking for the "pro-Jenkins" argument, b/c i personally like the kid, and i think he and Scandrick could be some good corners for us in the future.

after the game i saw a bunch of posts about how Jenkins just sucked and blah blah blah...

i even saw Bob's blog from BaD radio, and he threw out the possibility that Jenkins could be another Carpenter and/or Spears? i mean he didn't come out and say that he's in the class, but to even bring that up at this point? i mean come on!

ok this is his 1st, i repeat, FIRST start in the NFL, and he's a rookie. it's not like it was a 3rd year player who's always been a nickel/dime corner and now had a chance to start, this is a 1st year guy in his first start.

so he made a really bonehead play on that long incompletion....he didn't deny the fact that he screwed up, he admitted that he didn't play well, and he said he felt more comfortable in the 2nd half, which i think was evident in his play.

he will get more acclimated to the game as time goes on while he fills in for Newman, and he does play off coverage a lot right now, but he will get more comfortable as time goes on with man coverage and jamming at the line.

but apparently to a lot of people, including Bob "go Packers" sturm, the fact that he didn't play like an all pro rookie in his first start, and got beat on some plays by Torry Holt (wow that's never happened to anyone)....he now is in the same class of draft picks as Barbie Carpenter....

you want to put them in the same class....with Newman out and Pac gone, Jenkins was immediately named the replacement starter across from Henry,

with Burnett hurt, and with chances to compete for jobs before Zach got here and Ayodele was struggling, Carpenter still hasn't gotten the nod to start not only in base defense, but to start on the nickel. he played this week b/c there was no other option

I've seen my fellow Cowboys' fans get amped up and overreact on things, but to call Jenkins a worthless bust who should be playing at a superior level at this point....and busting his butt over ONE bonehead play...that just takes the cake.....give him a break

ok /end rant

Anthony Henry needs to go! He is as slow as dirt, his man is always 5-7 yrds behind him!

Broadus said when Jenkins settled into the game he thought he played very well and thniks the guy just needs more pt.

Bad first half for Jenkins and he admited he wasn't comfortable in his first start in the first half but he seemed to get it together and play much better in the second half.

both guys will be great, they just need to get more PT. Actually it would not be a bad idea to just let them 2 start until newman comes back then sit move one back to the nickel/dime package, which would be held down by Alan Ball while Henry starts working on the Safety spot. let all the youngsters play.

I also thought Jenkins got better as the game went along. Of course, it didn't matter at all because the Rams were so far ahead and they were pounding the ball on the ground.

other than the play where he left his guy and nearly gave up the deep ball, what play/s did Jenkins look "lost" out there? Even on passes he gave up completions on he was right on the guy...I dont recall seeing him get turned around or anything either.

Great post, I agree with every word!

Jenkins has more of that "soft" demenor to him..very Spears esque. Scandrick however looks like a baller.
