Jenkins' baggage worth claiming?
By Tom Orsborn

As a team with needs at cornerback, the Dallas Cowboys are obligated to study all the top prospects at that position.
But should they include Janoris Jenkins, a corner who has been arrested three times — once for a bar fight and twice for marijuana possession — and has four children, ages 3 and under, reportedly with three different women?
“I made a few mistakes, and I learned from them,” Jenkins, 23, said last month at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.
Deciding whether they believe him is the challenge facing the Cowboys and 31 other teams. Were Jenkins' arrests and the children he fathered out of wedlock youthful indiscretions or part of a dangerously dysfunctional pattern that will be hard for him to break?

Only thing worse than a problem player is a problem player with a boat load of money.

No thanks i'll fille this hole with Brandon Carr who is only 2 years older and has 4 years of experiance under his belt already.

For any team to even spend a 7th round pick on this kid is stupid. This guy is a perpetual train-wreck. Look this guy has basically made 7-8 life changing mistakes in what 3-4 years? That's an average of about two life altering mistakes per year!

Now tell me. Who really thinks this idiot is going to change once he starts getting pro athlete money?

No, it's not going to get better. The guys isn't just stupid. He is an absolute moron. It's only going to get worse.

Once can be called a mistake. 4 times is a pattern of behavior.

I agree. Myself I don't mind taking certain risk but I would not risk a 14th overall on him. I think he has very good talent and if there was a way to get him in the 2nd I'm be more on board with it but not in rd1

Thats pretty much my thoughts as well he's out of the discussion in the first for me 2nd I wouldn't be so tough on him but he probably won't be there when we pick in the 2nd if he even falls into the 2nd round.

I don't think this question has been asked enough yet, cause I am still saying no. Maybe if it gets asked a couple hundred more times, I might change my mind.

How does having 4 kids prevent him from being a good football player? I'm not going to judge him for it. It's not like he's not going to be able to financially support them. I'd take him at 14.

Where did he say Jenkins wasn't a good football player? I think the comment is obviously about the kid's decision making skills....couple of arrests for drugs and assualt....being kicked out of school...four kids with three different mothers all while not gainfully employed as a college student.

I think it could be argued that Jenkins may be the best corner in the draft, but his checkered history is a major redflag and a legitimate cause for pause for any franchise.
