I am a huge R2A fan and I do not appreciate you people taking unnecessary jabs at him.
Are you secretly r2a's brother?

Let's assume neutral field and Peyton Manning was the QB...for 4 Qs, they would battle intensely and this would be the #s:

MA: 5-78 yds 1 TD
MJ: 8 passes defended and 1 INT, to the house...

PUSH!!

if those are the #s thats an MJ win for sure

Tough call here but I'll take Austin.

The reason being that if they're both as good/great as we believe they are, from what we saw last season, then I go by my old standard of a great WR will, more often than not, defeat a great cover corner.

I say this because when i was younger the best corner in football, and possibly ever, was Deion Sanders. He could shutdown folks and lots of QBs simply wouldn't throw at him.

But the best WR's in football, Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, and those guys would make plays, and have big games, with him covering them.

I just think an elite receiver has an advantage over an elite corner. I don't know why, that could be totally wrong, it's just what I've always felt.

Good analysis. I too would take Austin Jenkins has great size and speed but Austins is just better. And while I think Jenkins is a top 5 CB in the NFL, he probaly isnt as good as Asomaguh and I remember Austin tearing him a new ***

:laugh2: took the words right out of my mouth...

I get what the OP is saying though

I love me some Jenkins, but Austin is the man. When he his "in the zone", nobody can stop him. Nobody.

I'd take Jenkins over any CB in the league, except for Revis. Asomugha is on his decline so I'd take Jenkins over him. And I'd take Jenkins on a one on one matchup over many WRs.
