The signings are not happening, they are agreeing to terms, that will be signed tomorrow.

They aren't even supposed to be doing that (NFL sent a memo this morning as a reminder) but I don't think anyone cares

Why do the Skins keep signing 4-3 DL? Hatcher now Paea. I'm confused, not out of jealousy, but genuine confusion as to what they're trying to accomplish.

They did add Joe Barry as their defensive coordinator, and not only is he Rod Marinelli's son-in-law, but he has a lot of experience in coaching the Tampa 2 4-3 defense. His only 3-4 experience was the last couple of years in San Diego.

Teams can't even agree to terms of a contract. They are only permitted to make pitches. But even they can't be described as "offers".

Good. Thought he was a bit overrated

This a hundred times. He has been severely overrated based off of one solid sack season which happened to be the season before he hit the market and of course the Marinelli halo.

If you believe that is what is going on I have a bridge to sell you. The teams and agents have, as you knew they would stretched the letter of the law on the legal tampering period.

What is allowed:

The version of the memo sent last year permits a team to “submit a written summary of the club’s negotiating position,” to “[e]xpress its position as to signing bonus, length of contract, amounts of signing bonus and yearly compensation, and other items,” to “[a]djust its negotiating position in response to a certified agent’s position,” and “[e]ngage in an oral exchange of positions.”

What is happening is they are coming to final terms.

Skins FA strategy is always to go after guys who are rumored to be on our radar.

The Commish put out a warning today to all 32 teams on this.
Not really sure what affect that has.

I never seen free agency start out like this. Usually you don't hear anything about any agreement until the actual day of free agency begins.

Anytime the Skins sign a free agent. You know they won't be good while they are a Commander. And they'll be looking to get rid of that player in a year or two.

Is Vince Wilfork an option? Paea is younger but Wilfork is the more immoveable object and still a force to be reckoned with if in a rotation. Question is what is his market value? Should be more affordable since he is pushing 34.
