I reached out to five NFL executives and asked them to predict one player who could have an unexpected fall on draft day (April 27-29 in Philadelphia). Here are their answers.

Executive 1:
Western Michigan WR Corey Davis
"I like Corey Davis as a player, but he's been out of sight, out of my mind in the spring. The fact that he won't run a 40 (yard dash) isn't a huge deal but it could impact the thinking of some teams around the league. I could see him falling to the late first or early second round."

Executive 2: Alabama LB Reuben Foster
"I was at the Florida pro day and Jarrad Davis was very impressive. I think there's a chance both Davis and (Haason) Reddick get picked ahead of Reuben Foster. He's a great player but he hasn't had a great spring."

Executive 3: Alabama DL Jonathan Allen
"I'll be surprised if Solomon Thomas doesn't go ahead of Jonathan Allen. That probably wasn't the thinking right after the season ended. Allen just isn't very explosive. Good player but I could see him sliding a little bit more than people think."

Executive 4: Foster
"I think Foster is going to slide. Combination of some character concerns and poor interviews."

Executive 5: Washington WR John Ross
"I could see Ross sliding because of durability concerns. It will be interesting to see how he comes out of the combine medical recheck."

I'd take Allen or Foster in a heartbeat. If Jaylon was healthy, holy bleep. I know most teams like moving to nickel/dime, but we could legitimately run a 4-3 base when you have 3 LB's that good.

I think Davis is BPA at 28 so i'd be fine with him there.

I know people like Ross, but his injury issues are just a pass for me. Not with a 1st rounder.

Love Davis. If he's there, that's my pick

If we needed a WR bad i would definitely trade up for him if he drops into the 20s like Dez.He should be a top 10 player if he was not injured.

My guess is in Allen's case, by "sliding" I think they mean to 5-8 at the furthest (vs 2nd)

But yeah, Id take him!

I keep making the comparison. But I see TO in Davis.

Imagine giving Dak a weapon like that?!

There's always the Sharrif Floyd scenario. Except without the part where he slid all the way to us and we didn't take him anyway.

And thankfully we didn't. I was so upset with the Boys for not taking Floyd. Then they traded down and took some Center named Frederick. Anyone heard of him?

Floyd v. Fredbeard + Terrence Williams. It sure makes a difference for your team when you hit on your picks at a high rate.

Floyd was quietly becoming a decent contributor in MIN, but last I heard his career was in jeopardy. Did he end up retiring, after all?

No word yet. A nerve got "disrupted" during a meniscus surgery in September. Nerve still hasn't fired.

Hadnt heard of him retiring, but sure glad we got Fred/T. Williams.

That is as good of a draft day trade you can make these days.

I'd bet Davis or Ross would be BPA at #28. If they let them slide they had better hit with the player they take.

It was not necessarily Floyd the person that had everyone (me) upset. It was the fact that our scouts had him rated as the # 5 player on our board, but the coaches did not want him.
DT at that time was a big need, but Floyd did not fit our scheme. It was the disconnect that pissed everybody off.
If the 5th rated player fell to the late teens/early twenties, you should have been falling all over yourself to get that card called in. The fact I think we traded down twice ? And still did not take him meant we were not interested at all, and our board was just wrong. Same thing played out when they did not do any home work on Claiborne - thinking he would be picked already, then when they traded up for him without knowing the player at all .....
Luckily for us we got it absolutely right with Frederick !
But that is what led to McClay revamping the draft process.

Let me see if I can find some grainy pictures and make some assumptions re: his brace and his gait accordingly. I can be the 'pro nerve' guy if you want and you can just shoot everything down and call me a a stupid homer.

Or I can be anti-nerve and yell at you whenever you try to say anything constructive or otherwise. "YOU'RE NOT A DOCTOR!!!" Stuff like that.

If you're the anti-never guy, though, you have to signup for a twitter handle for 'sharrifs_nerve' and post hilarious updates every now and then and then let us all know where to go an look. That seems like a lot of work, but it's necessary.

Or you could be the guy that declares himself to be correct in all of his nerve related posts. I won't names names because my memory is fuzzy at the moment.
