If we take White over Nolan Smith I’m going to throw a chair through my TV.
I would probably feel the same. Not because of any shortcoming in White… but because Smith is such a favorite of mine.

Smith not only has athleticism and twitch to spare… he also has great leadership, character and plays with such fire and emotion.

Everything Smith does, he does it with violence.

I would love to add Smith to this defense. I just don’t know if the team will like his size enough to use a first round pick on him.

But I am right there with you man.

Aside from the guys that will be long gone before we pick (Anderson, Carter, Wilson, Murphy) I don’t like any of the DL or Edge players where we pick in the first. Becomes better value late 2nd and on.

White is a good player that I wouldn't mind having, but if we pass up on Torrence for him I'd be PO. Torrence is a beast at OG and would be a 10 year starter.
I like Torrence too but I have to admit don’t know much about White.

I have not seen White play but i am not sure they will pick an Edge player at 26.

Smith looks like a top 20 talent. Incredible combination of burst and bend.

I just don’t see it with White. He looks like a 2nd rounder to me.

White is going to shine at the Combine. And with his ridiculous size, it would be foolish to think that he wouldn’t get a serious look if available. I also think Drew Sanders is going to be someone to watch. Not just a LB, but someone that can bring some pass rushing ability as well.

I would be OK with DL in rd 1 if we go Avila in rd 2 and shore up the OL

I’d probably prefer Mayer (TE) in this draft scenario

I think we better plan ahead and draft the Guard at 26. Here is why. What happens if Martin gets hurt? He's over 30 and has lots of mileage. As great as he is, I just think we must be forward thinking. Drafting the Cyrus kid gives us much flex and better depth there and makes much sense. We can't pass him up if he's there. We can resign Dante Fowler easily if we need a DE. Anther kid I like is a way underrated guy in Luke Haggard, the guard from Indiana. We can grab him in the middle rds. He is a phone booth mauler..a lunch pail guy.

I agree. I like Avila and a hidden Gem later is Haggard from Indiana. He would be in the McGovern Mold but with more upside. He is a mauler but needs some coaching in his technique.

I can see them taking a QB there at 29. Either that or Bijan. They really need both. Herndon Hooker in New Orleans might be a fit. But I can see a rb there. Kamara is on his way out I feel.

Guard is one of those positions to me, there is a lot of guys you can survive in the NFL went. Signing a guard is easier than a tackle or center. I love Torrence, but am not hurt by not selecting him.

You can find many Connor McGovern type guys on the market for $2-6 million per year.
