I’m not a huge fan of Wilson but Mayer, IMO, is really good.

It doesn’t matter though because both will be gone before Dallas picks.
Would you take Mayer at 26? He probably would be close to the best rated on their board and an upgrade over Shultz. I would draft him if he made it to our selection, unless a top 15 prospect somehow slid.

TE is kind of like TB to me in the first. The board would have to be pretty wasted at that point for me to go with either a TE or TB.

I understand, but could be top rated player with a 1st rd grade at a need position.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll be surprised if Mayer posts a sub 4.75 40.

If he runs in the 4.6s? I become more interested.

Probably would, depending on who was available. He is an all around player who can help in the run game too.

I’m interested to see his athleticism at the combine. He would have to be a lot less athletic than I expect him to be, for me to cool on him some.

There are other positions that I’d rather address in round 1 though.

A great TE really opens up the middle for the QB and would be a huge upgrade in MMs offense IMO

I’d probably take Meyer if he runs below 4.7

I agree, but he is an ideal TE that helps both in the run/passing games. Agree, more of a wipe out type of selection though.

I would take Mayer at #16 if we had that pick.

The cowboys are more likely to draft a TE than any other posiition in the offense at 26,any Te we draft at 26 will be a better option than any Wr that will be available,

You are very high on the player, like him a lot too. It would depend who else is on the board, but no doubt good looking prospect and a day 1 upgrade over Shultz

If we’re going to invest a 1st round pick in a low value position it is.

We already have a 4.7 TE in Ferguson.
In fairness, Mayer is a way better prospect than Ferguson. Like I said, I wouldn’t take a TE at 26 but if the logic is we can’t use Mayer because we have Ferguson….. well, that’s kinda strange.
