Jeremy Green pleads guilty

Former ESPN analyst and Cleveland Browns scout Jeremy Green, the son of former Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, has pleaded guilty to one count of child pornography and was sentenced to 20 years in prison, suspended after five, according to the Hartford Courant.

Green was accused of sharing sexually explicity photos and videos of a toddler on the Internet.

He was also sentenced to 10 years of probation.

Green was chatting online with a woman with the handle, 'lendingmom12' who told him she would bring her three children to Connecticut to meet with Green.

How much time do you want him to get? 5 years is enough, probably too much. He should definitely do time but if you are wanting 20 years or something for this? No. Murderers, rapists, thieves sometimes get less time than this. Look what he did and could have done were bad but this guy needs more medical help than anything. 5 years is about right.

I think you hit the nail on the head. And guess what, murderers have the lowest recidivism rate.

These people simply cannot stop. I don't understand it, cannot even comprehend it. Why??? How can a child "turn you on"????

But this issue is ignored or people are given light sentences. Should NOT happen considering it is a mental illness -- jail time or in a mental institution?? Either one, get them OFF the street. Castrate anyone?? Sounds like a plan -- castrate or stay off the streets.

And consider this issue with the Catholic church, a church that ignored priests doing this -- or covered up for them. And for the most part -- zero consequences. And I have got to believe some of these kids do not come out "whole" after experiencing something like that.

I still ask why??? I have never known or talked to a pedophile, but that would be my first question. Why???

There is no medical help for him. It has been tried with little positive results. I don`t know what the answer is for pedophiles as far as punishment goes , but I`m sure that pills and talking to a shrink shouldn`t be considered punishment. Some people just have an evil streak . There is no excuses to be made for them. I sure don`t want a pedophile in my community around my kids and grandkids . Would you trust him ? Children are our most precious gifts in life. I consider Green on the same level as a murderer , rapist or thief . Maybe worse. a 25 year minimum stint would just be a starting point IMO.

One of these is not like the other. A thief does not deserve the time that those others deserve. The damage they do is a fraction of thievery

Some murderers, rapists and thieves do get less time. That is a fact. A thief does deserve that time depending on what they have done. I guess you think someone like Bernie Madoff deserves less time. Did he have anything to do with Child porn other than having photos and sending them? Was he involved with the kids in the pictures?

There is a huge difference between the 2 for me.

Yes, the type of person who will do something to a child is likely to do it again some day. However the average person who looks at child porn is NOT likely to ever touch a child, even though the average person who would touch a child, likely looks at child porn.

Both are sick *******s, who require legal actions against them, but there is a huge difference between the two types.

Reading the report, it seems like he would have gone so far as to act out his fantasies (he was looking to do so), which is pretty awful.

5 certainly isn't too much time. Someone like this should spend years getting medical attention and evaluation (while in prison), and NEVER be off of probation for the rest of their lives. People like this if they are ever released need to be flagged and monitored until they die. I seriously believe this sort of crime should get you GPS/ID tagged so the authorities can watch your every move.

I don't believe in 20+ year prison sentences though, for any crime of any level.
