Defensive end Jeremy Mincey says there are players on the team that have to understand “how limited this opportunity is” and that the team won’t just spring back to the top of the NFC East with the healthy return of their quarterback and top wide receiver.

“Faith without works is dead. The key to [this] thing is you have to have faith in the process,” Mincey said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “You have to have [faith] in yourself as a player. We have ways to go. Until we change our mentality and change our outlook on the game, we will be in the same situation and the same place. Until we change that, it’s going to be tough to move a notch higher.”

Seems like the RKG thingy has fell by the wayside. We kept that dummy Randle around too long and only gave McFadden the start job by default. The locker room has been allowed to be a circus with fights with reporters, monkey talk, etc.

I don't think all the speeches and grand gestures are what get to young players now. The Arians approach of "tough love" calling them out to their peers if they don't play the right way does.

Hasn't leadership, our lack thereof, in the locker room already been discussed? :) Is there anyone on offense or defense that is willing to step up and hold people accountable? Anyone?

I don't like reading these things. I wonder what Mincey thinks of Jerry's claim that the Boys are on the cusp despite their woeful record.

I was thinking the same thing. Mincey was just spouting off like a teapot with diminishing liquid in it.

Usually when a player makes pronouncements like this, he is likely saying, "of course, this excludes me because I am the standard you should live up to," and they always finished the sentence with a preposition. Bollywocks!

A player doesn't have to be good to be able to make a comment on the state of the locker room. I don't think there is really even a question that there isn't a winning culture in the lockerroom currently. And it's probably way too late to try and fix the thing now too. The only thing that will help is winning. If the team gets off to a good start next year all will be forgotten, but if they struggle out of the gate....yikes...it could get ugly quick.

McFadden is one of the few who has played well.

So players are losing faith in the process, enough to even allude to it openly? It's about time...
