Columbo was cut but they are thinking twice about it; which seems to be tied in with what happens with Free.

I think he was a definite cut until Free showed up; I am betting that Free let Jerruh know that his price was higher then the Boys had counted on.

That's what I said in the other thread and people questioned it. I think it's common sense. You don't just cut Colombo when Free's return isn't guaranteed. Both of last years starting tackles could be gone and then you have a rookie!

Well.....the first four aren't the best players on the team at their respective positions. The fifth player is. Newman stays for now IMO.

So after 5 months of planning Jerry just figured that out? They had to be prepared for whatever contract demands Free laid out on the table for MONTHS. So whatever may or may not have happened today should not have changed their minds.

They may have not figured on how much Free would want; or they might have gotten some information that other teams were going to make a run at him; driving up his price. Not like they could have done anything about it up till today.

Im not sure about paying FREE the crazy money, other teams might be willing to pay....Call his BLUFF.. Yes he is young, even tho he did a good job ( got alot of help).. he has only started for 1 year and no one player is worth putting the Team in Salary Cap hell for the next 5 years... To much of a gamble, let him walk if they price is to high, sign a vet and get Smith in shape to take over....
