That's just silly. Yours or others' failures are not the fault of wealthy people. That's where that level of thinking comes from.

I never got a job from a poor man. And I never gave a job to anyone when I was a poor man.

Wealthy people typically are among the most generous and charitable people you'll ever know with their time and money. I can't count the number of times they've mentored and supported me in my career and life.

But you have to do your part. There's no 40-hour week that will get you there.

With rare exceptions, there's no magic to how they got there. They worked hours and made sacrifices you can't imagine, on top of the risk they took beforehand.

I don’t detest the wealthy. I detest the corrupt. And most filthy rich people are corrupted, ethically and practically.

Yup. It’s way to easy to paint a group with a broad brush. Billionaires have varying traits just the the rest of every socioeconomic class of people. Some earned it, some inherited it, and some came by it unscrupulously.
 
I do not begrudge the rich their wealth. I also do not think all rich people are corrupt and evil. I know rich and poor people and they break down the way most people break down. Some are good, kind people and some are the back end of a donkey. I don't know Jerry well enough to say what he is so I will refrain from making a character judgement.

But I do agree. On the face of it, the settlement, regardless of the amount, was in the best interest of all parties. After all, both parties did agree to the conditions of the settlement. If they were happy with the deal then why does anyone else care? The media likes to stir up controversy for their own enrichment.

Granny was behind that and PETA wouldn't have gotten a dime if it wasn't for Ellie Mae. If he was a true philanthropist, he would have bought Jethro Kellogg's. and let him be Mayor of Battle Creek. As a kid, I thought the sun rose and set in Battle Creek, the home of decoder rings and baking soda powered submarines.

That is an interesting thought. As I run around Florida past magnificent homes and yachts, I wonder how they got there.

You may be confusing narcissism with confidence and greed for returns on massive personal risks.
 
Most uber wealthy people failed their first few tries and lost almost everything in the process.

Etc, etc, etc.

Until one day, they didn't.

At that point, there is something wrong with them. By definition, they should be diagnosed with hoarding disorder. Nobody needs that much money and no matter the mental gymnastics they attempt, they are not worth that much more than the average worker.

It's actually quite sick how out of touch with reality most of these people are.
