"I always knew, either front door or back door, whether or not I should be trying."

Quite the telling quote from a man with a laundry list of illigitimate children. Jerry, never stop being Jerry.

The sad part is Stephen is going to be worse.

Stephen will really usher in the true fall for the Cowboys.

Jerry cares about keeping them relevant. Stephen only cares about sucking it dry.

Man, that DT comment really sounds dumb.
But can it be just Jerry draft speak? Normally I would say yes, but since it has been an ongoing issue as s was for years, and years. I don't see them addressing the biggest issue with the team.
Well, the biggest issue is the guys at the top. But on the field it is DT.

They also ignored the S issue as well, as to drafting one. Sure they brought in Hooker and Kearse both coming off of injuries, and lucked into Wilson with a 6th round pick. Though it took them longer than usual for him to get his chance.

I really hope they get a DT though, but not looking forward they will. It makes looking forward to the draft anti-climatic in a way.
But I will be glad when the draft does get here. A month away.
In the past, it's been somewhat obvious that Jerry has made comments that appear to be an attempt to cover up his actual intentions. Whether that holds true in this instance might be something to address further into the year. He has long been known to favor "consistency" in forming a starting defensive and offensive line with experience being a worthwhile friend there. Let's see if they do what they can to make that happen in 2023.

Well he's not wrong. They did great in passrush, and once Hankins and Watkins got inserted in the rotation the run defense was actually really good. They were dead last by a good margin before the trade, they finished 22. That's a big jump and Hankins only played in 5 games.

And they have to let the guys they have play. They're still on rookie deals. Osa, gholston, bohanna, Williams, Micah. That's a great core going into the future to go with Hankins, gallimore, Fowler, armstrong.
Watkins isn't even under contract.

And the DT rotation even with Hankins wasn't good enough. The pass rush scuffled a bit later in the year, in part, because the DTs simply were non-factors in collapsing the pocket. Why do they have to let the guys play? They mostly are what they are. Gallimore is a JAG. Bohanna is a JAG.

Anyone who looks at the current DT rotation and thinks they are set................ Hahahaha.

They seriously messed up cutting Ridgeway. He definitely could have helped the team, better than Gallimore and Bohanna. Ridgeway played well as a sub at Washington.
Ridgeway was okay, but he showed more potential than any of the DTs the Cowboys have drafted. I think they thought they could sneak Ridgeway on to the practice squad. I don't know why they risked losing him when they had some other guys who could have easily cleared waivers.

The reality is lamenting the loss of Ridgeway pretty much shows how dire it is at DT.

It's downright perplexing how this franchise continually undervalues the DT position while placing real value in fungible positions like RB. You want to know why we are on a nearly 3 decade run of woeful postseason success? This is just but one example of why.

The fact that he doesn't foresee DT as a draft need just reminds you of what a colossal football idiot he really is.

He's not an overall idiot. You don't build his fortune being dumb but in terms of football personnel he is Simple Jack.
There are some true idiots that have become billionaires. Plus, Jones didn't start off penniless.

Most of the wealthy presented to us in the media do not actually control their supposed fortunes.
