Jerry Jones: Loss to Ravens was 'probably the best' game Cowboys have played this year

Although Jerry Jones said he was frustrated by Sunday’s 31-29 loss in Baltimore, he wasn’t completely disappointed about the effort.

“We had a big effort, really probably the best football game that I would say that we’ve played this year,” the Cowboys owner and general manager said. “You might take exception to the Giants game, but still the best game we’ve played. You looked at it with this stadium and you would like to think you could get out with a win and I’ll take Bailey stepping up there to try to nail that thing from 50 yards out every time.”

Jones later added: “I’m not discouraged. I actually feel better right now about the future of this football team than I did when we got beat by Chicago just because of the way they stuck in here and also because of the offensive line play.”

I know Jerry believes this, so I seriously have to conclude that he is delusional.

Moral Victory ! :thumbdo:

He has a point, the team played well really. The Ol didnt look like swiss cheese and they ran the ball hard. Nothing wrong with praise for those improvements.

He didnt mention that the team has had a terrible GM, ST play, Game management and spotty OC execution.

Not only that the Ravens were flat today....Cowboys are weak minded for the 18th season in a row for a reason..Pro Teams reflect their Leadership.

Don't know how he can say that was the best game this year, didn't he see the game against the Giants ?

As long as there are always idiots buying it, I don't see why he shouldn't do that.

Exactly. Jerry's not the foolish one here. It still amazes me how many people will come to his defense in this forum.

:laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: Close loss against a good team in their house=Jerry smiling from ear to ear. He thrives on walking the line. It leaves him room to say, "I see improvement, so keep buying that Cowboys gear and coming to those games". Unbelievable!! I could see it coming.

Exactly.

The best game we played was the first one.

We won.

Everything else has been mediocre to just bad.

This. It will have to take a complete rock bottom season or stretch of seasons like 2000-2002 for him to change his ways again. 7 to 9 wins a season and having it come down to the final 2 weeks of the season and he'll take it every year

Jethro should know by now that this is a sign of a below average to bad team, you play the BEST game of the year and still lose. Good & well coached teams will win those. And yes, he is delusional as well as incompetent. But what else is new?

Absolutely....

It must be a real good feeling knowing he can make $$$ and the Cowboys dont have to win another game.

Yup. Jerry likes to reference the Giants of last year who finished 9-7 and won the Lombardi. What he doesn't realize is that all 9-7 teams are not created the same. That same Giant team had just won the SB a few years earlier. Big difference.

Besides, a 9-7 record should never be your benchmark for success.
