I have been wondering that myself.

For Micah to post a "Goodbye Dallas" message recently along with his childish (and it is childish) removal of all things Cowboys related from his X account, it really suggests he wants to go somewhere else rather than play for the Cowboys.

At this point, even if he gets a great contract, there is going to be lingering damage and every injury he gets, every miss tackle, every play or series he takes off, every game he disappears, etc. the fans and media are going to bring up that huge contract and how he never really wanted to be here.

Jerry needs to show him some more of the real world, if only in a delayed contract.

For all we know, Jerry offered 130m guaranteed for seven years or something similarly stupid. It would technically be the most guaranteed but it would be a terrible deal for Micah.

And for him to say Micah has three years left is totally messed up.

Micah is literally the 1st player that he has dug in on this way. Even with Dak and Ceedee Jerry was still engaging and trying to work out a deal and I actually commend Jerry for this. He has to quit caving and making every player the highest paid this or that. Think about it. Dak was/is? the highest paid player in NFL history. CeeDee is the highest paid WR and Now Micah wants to be the highest paid player too. We (Cowboys) can't make every star player the highest paid especially when said player becomes a non-factor at the end of the season or develops an injury history over the last couple of years.

I think Philadelphia and the Chiefs would disagree with you about DE. Good DE's?? Sure, but not great and not the highest paid either. Denver in 2016 is the last time that a Superbowl winner has had an "elite" DE and to be fair they had 2, and neither was the highest paid.

Jerry said Micah is under contract for 3 years. That’s patently false. Micah is under contract for this year and this year only.

Jerry can prevent Micah from being a free agent and negotiating a new contract by exercising the owners franchise tag, which would automatically, without I negotiation, execute a one year deal that Micah cannot get out of. He either plays for that amount or he can’t play at all.

The next year, Jerry can exercise a second tag, again, without negotiation.

Finally, there is a third tag he can exercise but finally, at that point, the cost is very high for the owner.

The first two tags are bargains for Jerry in a situation like this, paying him significantly below market and below what other players, with better GMs will be signing next year and the year after.

So, Micah, being a first round rookie, can reasonably expect to have a first chance to negotiate a contract after playing in the league seven years which Jerry could, extend to eight.

Eight years without ever being able to decline unless he walks away from his entire career.

Average NFL career lasts 3.3 years.

Jerry is simply betting on being able to “use up” all of Miceh’d prime. His best years. Without ever having tontruly negotiate on somewhat equal footing.

I hope the other players and their agents are paying attention and I’m sure they are.

This seems to be a little different. Egos are clashing here. According to Jerry, he thought he had a deal done, and wanted to send it over to the agent. Apparently the agent told him something he didn't like. We don't know what that is. Jerry says he told him to stick it up your ***, but that's probably figurative. The agent probably wants Jerry to work out the deal, not send him something they did on the side. Of course Jerry is not going to be dismissed like that. So here we are.

The agent absolutely does not anticipate Jerry tagging his client twice. No team does that with a disgruntled employee. But Jerry put that out there.
