We all know that this team needs upgrades at key positions, and one main way is to sign Free agents. With that said, we have to back track to Brandon Carr, who was a big money FA acquisition years ago. It was obvious that we didn't evaluate him properly, and realize he wasn't a good #1 CB, but he was solid and received #1 CB money. With Carr not living up to the deal, it seems to have left a disgusting taste in Jerry/Stephen's mouth for years! With that said, we go out and spend money this year in FA, and the players we get DON'T have the kind of season Jerry invested his money in them to be. How exactly do you think Jerry feels, and does that entice him to want to spend money in the years to come?

Jerry has FA anxiety, but we all know we have to evaluate correctly, and see what these players true talents are, and not just picking up people because they're out there. It's time to get over this fear, and bring in talent that can help this team. Once again i'm not advocating for us to sign EVERY big name in FA!!!!! Please give your thoughts

he doesn't have FA anxiety. he has money anxiety. he wants to keep the cash out as little as possible. he doesn't want to make long term money commitments unless he knows he can get the money back at least in jersey sales or more ticket sales or not lose fans on game day.

Why should we care about how Jerry feels when we know he doesn't give a damn about us and only thinks of us as his personal ATM?
you're right, but we as fans at least want a decent product out there on the field, one with some thought, and evaluations of NFL talent, we're cheap,i'm surprised the ATM still let's them use it, they never use it,they're cheap!!!

This is just my opinion, but as the Grim Reaper looms over his shoulder, NGM is thinking about that and believes the more money he dies with the better deal he can buy after.

you would think someone that makes so much money would want to spend it to get even more money!!

can't come fast enough!!

Yeah, there are some examples of guys who worked out well. Haley and Deion, to name a couple.
yeah but that was back when Jerry wasn't afraid to take risks. Jerry would rather spend nothing these days and ASSUME he's going to win a Superbowl somehow

Carr wasn't a bad signing for a Rob Ryan man cover defense.
Was he going to live up to the deal and more? Probably not.
But the disappointment from Carr and Claiborne have more to going to a Tampa 2 Kiffin defense than spending the money on Carr.

I didn't think Carr was that bad. Maybe they overpaid him a little but so what? Top free Agents are generally overpaid. The question is, do they make the team better than who was playing the same position before? Would anyone care if the Cowboys overpaid a free agent but won the Super Bowl?

Then again, what's the difference between overpaying a free agent and overpaying your own players? The Cowboys overpay their own guys all the time. That doesn't seem to bother them.

The Brandon Carr thing is just a damn excuse.

Carr was overpaid. But he was also a solid player who started every single game.

They’re just cheap and incompetent.

there's so much to break down in this post!!!!! Problem is we're not paying much of anyone so we can win a Superbowl. We do pay our guys too much I guess it's more of a loyalty thing when we should be out meeting new people instead of being stuck with the same players
