Well, Jerry, you earned it. All of the negativity that is being fired at you and this team, it's all your doing. You say that good teams like the Cowboys that draft at the bottom of the draft have to find "other" ways of finding players? Yeah, Pittsburg, New England, Indianapolis, they all are going out & hiring thugs and selfish whiners....right. No, actually, they are getting rid of theirs. Of course, they know they can always trade them to you.
I really hope this will be a wake up call for you, Jerry. You brought in THREE players while they were still on suspension with their current team! Congratulations, that's a new record. What do you have to show for it? Adam Jones is gone. Tank Johnson isn't too far behind, and Owens is 35 and a cancer to the team. What did it hurt? Well, thousands of fans like myself have become disenfranchised. We love the Cowboys, but hate what you've done to them.
You have also brought so much negative publicity to the Cowboys, they're becoming a laughing stock. There is no way this team will win another Super Bowl until you swallow your pride & fire the GM of the team--youself, and butt out of football affairs. Only then will fans like me, who have had it with how you have made this team look more like a biker club than a pro football team, come back & root for this team.
This is a good post, I am definitely as member of the GROJ(Get Rid of Jerry) club. Dumbest GM ever. While some in here think he is a great owner, I think he is a terrible owner. If he was a good owner, he would realize he sucks as GM and get a real football guy here to run this team. The problem with Jerry is, his knowledge of football is not any more than that of most of the people who post in this forum. He is a GM with the football knowledge of a die-hard fan, and that is it. However the difference between Jerry and the people who post in here is, Jerry puts his ego and getting press time first, and the Cowboys after that. Any of us in here if we owned the Cowboys would put the Cowboys first and no questions about it. Jerry is a joke for a GM, and I could care less what kind of flames I get, he is a terrible owner.
I will still route for the Cowboys, Jerry is extremely old, he has to be close to 80 years old is what I would guess. I am young, so I know it is only a matter of time before Stephan takes over.
I have come to terms that as long as Jerry is GM and owner, this team will go between being the laugh of the NFL with losing records and laughable drafts, having puppets for coaches, and on good years, knowing we will be nothing but the tease of the NFL. I have accepted as long as Jerry is owner and GM, I can forget about ever seeing the Cowboys being a Super Bowl threat or even seeing them win a playoff game.
Even with all those negatives in mind, it can only be a matter of time before Stephan takes over and there will be a bright light in what now is complete and total darkness, and will continue to be darkness as long as Jerry is around. Jerry is an idiot when it comes to football knowledge and running this team, there is not a bigger idiot than Jerry when it comes to this. In spite of all this, I am still a Cowboy fan. I will stay a fan of this team so that way when the complete and total wasted years, years of unbelievable let downs, and being the laughing stock of the NFL that Jerry gave us, that when he is finally gone and things get better, I can say I was still a fan of this great team even through the garbage years that King Jerra gave us.
Get a little thicker skin and think it over before leaving and then coming back. If you should go this route, I won't hold it against you, if I was perfect I guess I could, but I have my own faults. Some in here will never forgive you, but you have to do what you feel is best for you.
