Jerry at Senior Bowl likes Duggan at QB

Draft Tek has him ranked waaaay down there around 270th in this draft class. Im very worried Jerry will screw the pooch and draft him in rd 1 or 2. He's a very raw QB project.

Relax. McClay is pretty solid in drafting outside of Round 2 and Offensive lineman lol

I believe the Cowboys scouts guaranteed Duggan that they would either draft him or sign him if he goes undrafted and that's why he declared. But I'm more of a Clayton Tune fan!
....is the requirement "You must have played in Texas"?

he is poor mans Dak.very good intangibles and a guy who can run a bit but not great accuracy especially down the field.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn't walking back his comments on drafting a quarterback in 2023 anytime soon. In fact, Jones seems to have his eye on one intriguing target in the Senior Bowl.

On Thursday, Jerry Jones said the Dallas Cowboys are committed to drafting a quarterback this offseason, sending the first warning shot to Dak Prescott.

Duggan, projected by many to be a mid to late-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is one of the more under-the-radar prospects this year and was the runner-up in 2022 Heisman Trophy voting.

Last season, Duggan passed for 3,698 yards and threw 32 touchdowns against eight interceptions in a Cinderella season for the ages, albeit his final game for the Horned Frogs sticks out like a sore thumb: in the painful championship drubbing by the Georgia Bulldogs, Duggan recorded 152 yards and threw two picks.

Compared to higher-ranked prospects like Bryce Young or C.J. Stroud, Duggan isn't particularly flashy or athletic, and his accuracy issues could become a problem for any team willing to take a chance on him.

It's completely normal for a GM to tell the media what they're thinking.
I remember the Oakland Raiders moving in front of the Cowboys to swoop in and take a qb that Dallas was planning to draft. Wow, what a great strategy! Loose lips sink ships.

Apparently, Brock Purdy didn’t have a starters skill set but could make a solid backup (plagiarized from Walter football). Have the Cowboys changed their template for QB after Purdy’s showing?
I think Brock Purdy's success is going to have a lot of teams evaluating QBs differently.

Well, Duggan have horrible game by all accounts. Maybe Jerry will decide to make him a day 3 pick.

NFL Exec: 'TCU Did Little to Improve' Max Duggan's Mechanics; Accuracy Is 'Erratic'

There is reportedly concern about the mechanics and accuracy of TCU quarterback Max Duggan as he prepares to enter the NFL draft.

According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic on Saturday, an NFL official said the TCU coaching staff "did little to improve" Duggan's throwing mechanics, leading to "erratic" accuracy.

Howe noted that one NFL executive told him that could mean Duggan has untapped potential, although it isn't always easy to correct poor mechanics if they are deeply ingrained.
